Title: Montgomery Help
Post by: Kaos on July 02, 2024, 09:48:52 PM
Let's assume I have to spend 20 weekends in Montgomery over the course of the next year.

I know the town has become an unsafe cesspool.  Am I better off staying out 85 near the Shoppes at Eastchase?

You are better off commuting from Evergreen.

Definitely towards Eastchase area. Crime around these parts have been spiking. Most of it in the less desirable areas.

You guys know Prattville but it's for 20 weekends.

Wetumpka has these "Savannah Cottages ab&b that can be reserved for a 3 day minimum (?? $89/night)
Place looks fantastic. 1BR, 2 bed, pool, gets great ratings.
Just throwing an alternative out there to possibly consider, change of scenery.

Not gonna lie. Wetumpka has upped their game. I’m not sure about the roads coming into town from there though. I65/I85 have more lanes.

Do not do this, k. It’s a trap. I am afraid that he may try to get you off somewhere in unfamiliar territory and fuck you. It has been a long time since I lived there and I don’t know that I could find you if I needed to.

Yeah, don't do it, K.  Look, I'll go in your place.  That's the kind of guy I am.

It's not too late for you to score tickets for none other than Wayne Newton on the 21st at Montgomery's Performing Arts Center. He's still belting out those old favorites we all know and love.

I don’t think I will be physically recovered much before mid-September.

The classes are gonna be hard on me.  The AU game on Sep 21st I’m going to might be more than I can handle.

Thought about doing that myself, but with baby boy coming in November, not good timing to take the financial hit.

Also…. Damn, I’m good.

Prices now are different than what they were in the 90's/.  As you know, I am a firm believer in financial peace.  No loans for this guy... Would be all out of pocket.  I'll continue to mull it over, though.  Going to law school is something I have thought about for 5 years or better.

I’ve thought about it since I was 5.  I just kept making stupid decisions.

Kids are grown. Both have good jobs and masters degrees.  It’s really too late for me but….. why not?

It is not cheap.  The price actually made me hesitate because at my age I don’t know what I’m going to do with it when I’m out.

I feel like the coursework will be manageable. Could be wrong but I think I will have an advantage going in because of my age and the years of legal work I’ve had to review for my businesses.

I was a horrible student throughout high school and college.  Did just what I needed to do to get by.  I had been out of college and in the work force for over 15 years when I made the decision to give law school a go.

If I had tried it straight out of college, I would have flunked out after one semester.  But now, it was my money, my family, and my ass on the line.  Cashed in the 401K, and took out the loans.  If I didn’t make it through school and pass that little 3 day pop quiz called The Bar, we were in deep shit. With that in mind, I suddenly became a bona fide student.

Jones was a night school when I started.  I was driving the 2 hours up there and back after work.  The first year, it was 5 days a week. The school was in the process of getting accredited, so they were transitioning to day classes, and the new students were suddenly a bunch of pimple faced, flat bellied supple backs. The tuition had also literally quadrupled by the time I was graduating.

By the time I did graduate, there were less than half the people I started with who finished.  If you’re thinking about it, make sure it’s something you really want to do, because even realizing it’s not after a semester or two, will give you one hell of a financial set back

The last this we need is another lawyer and we potentially have two? That’s ridiculous.

One thing is for certain, any fucking idiot can become a lawyer. You can bet your stubby little dick on that.
