Title: Will Muschamp
Post by: War Eagle!!! on November 18, 2008, 05:04:31 PM
In my car, but I am hearing on sports radio out here that he has struck a deal with Texas that will pay him 900k to be D coord and will replace Mack Brown at Texas when he retires....

Wow...sounds like both UT and Muschamp is over committing here...

I am also hearing it is being reported on CBS Sportsline.com

I have not been too impressed witht he Texas D this year.  Oklahoma and Texas Tech seemed to score at will

I heard it earlier today too, but wrote it off as a rumor.

Apparently it's a done deal.

I don't like the coach in waiting thing.  I think that it is stupid on both parties.  I also think that this is a huge mistake for Texas.  They should've learned from bama on this one, you don't let a first time head coach take over the reigns at a major program.  He needs some time to develope at a lesser conference school.

Now we know what was missing from his Auburn extension contract.

Great move by Texas.
That POS was "flat out" out coached the last two minutes of the Texas/Texas Tech game it will probably cost Texas the chance to play for the MNC.  Leach is going to eat his lunch every year.

I have had trouble understanding some people's love affair with cwm. This shows he doesnt have the balls to step out and prove himself. I can't really blame him for taking the deal but any hc material with some fire in his belly would go for a hc position. I kind of wonder who would have offered him a hc job this year.

He is in-line to step in a Top 3 HC position with zero HC experience. Unbelievable to me. The thing is, I think Mack Brown stays for atleast 5 more years and takes Muschamp under his wing and shows him what it takes not to be a great coach, but what it takes to be the HEAD coach. Big difference there and Mack his the HC down to a fine art IMO...
