Title: It's That Time
Post by: Snaggletiger on March 15, 2021, 04:27:03 PM
Yep, heights and weights.  Not only do I love me some shower pics, I also love to see how my beefy guys are shaping up.  Mmmm.....beef.  Looks like Co Pitman's 7 weeks of winter hangin' and bangin' has paid off.  Love to see poundage added to Z. Walker and Jay Hardy.  Plus, True is up to 335 so maybe we can hold our own a little better in the middle.  My man, Derick Hall is up to 251 and JJ Pegues is up 8 pounds to 308.  Somebody gonna' get hurt.

One not listed on there is newcomer, Lee Hunter.  The defensive tackle is taking New's old number and will be #44.  Freshaman QB. Dematrious Davis will be #18.

I see you have WR JJ Evans listed at 6-2 224. Sure he's not a fullback?

Also see the two JC tackles from last year up near 300. That's good.
Seems one came to Auburn around 255 and the other around 275.

Peanut butter sandwiches and Pittman workouts are amazing.

Bigsby's style coupled with his size should concern some. Hard to try and bulldoze people for 12 games at 208 lbs which, when playing, is functionally 200. Hope there's a good B and C option to take some of the load off. Of course, I have no idea how Hargister runs his backs and whether he rides them in the dirt like Gus does or if he platoons them wisely. He's a drag racer so I tend to think it's the former over the latter.

But didn't you see Shivers is up 10lbs?

Nope, he's a receiver.

The drag racing analogy hit home. My neighbor would enter any and every mode of transportation the rules would allow thoughout a night at the track, even his wife if he could ride her for a quarter mile. Good Lord the stupid shit I've let a couple of beers allow me get talked into.

I did read that Bobo is somewhat old school in that he will often go with two back sets. Doesn't mean one back won't absorb all of the punishment though.

Jmar, do you not believe that our fat ass strength coach helped achieve this?

I understand that tub-o-lard buys them shakes and pizza on a regular basis.

He said we would have a bunch of fat asses in no time. On the team, I mean.

Yes I barely understand you and yes I believe in the Pittman weight gain plan.
Who cares if the other kids in class point at our fat fuck linemen and call them names.
Championship level programs are built around a herd of fat bastards and Coarch Pittman is carefully crafting menus to get us to the next plateau.

I love you, jmar.  In a totally non-sexual way, of course...unless there's a chance.

Not to worry Buzz.
It's this manly charm that I can neither rid myself of nor accept for the curse it has become.

Don't get out much but if your offerin' I might just take a cure and/or bathe.

Had forgotten that was the OC chosen. Honestly, without two or three years of OL development, it doesn't matter if Auburn runs the wishbone or the A-11. Live and die by that OL in the SEC.

Do we have any whatnots that can catch a ball?
Kodi couldn't have made too much of an impression on these young wideouts, nothing that would stick anyway...hopefully.

I know Nix tosses jump balls into a 5 foot circumference, sometimes more.
We got anybody that can make him look...you know...accurate?

Everything I've read on our WR's says they're a great mix of height, speed and athleticism.  But obviously, next to zero experience.  However, when I think of how badly Seth and Scwartzberg were misused, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what this group can do.  No more game plans of 12 back shoulder throws to Seth and 8 swing pass/bubble screens to Schwartz.

Looking at some stats from Boise State the last few years, they seem to me very balanced on offense.  They threw it around pretty good with good results.  In 2018, Brett Rypien was 301-447  for about 3,700 yards, with 30 TD and 7 INT.  Stats like that have happened exactly once at AU.  Pretty decent QB we had one year named Cameron.

The leading rusher in 2018 had over 1,400 yards and 17 TD, but unfortunately, it looked like they rode him Carry On style.  The two other years I looked at seemed to be more by committee.

I'm just curious if Harbinj will have Bobo run his (Harvinz) style or let him put in the Bobo-fied system.

Yeah but isn't the best if the bunch Kobe Hudson who was a 190 pound linebacker out of Cordova or thereabouts?

No disrespect to linebackers.
