Doug Amos is a guy I graduated with and has been a sports talk show host for many years in Montgomery. A current co-host on the show is Charlie Trotman, who I played baseball with at JD. This pic of the 79' Tigers was posted on Doug's BFaces this morning. Some great players on there, including James Brooks, Joe Cribbs and Byron Franklin. Just a walkin' down memory lane post.

Charlie Trotman was my hero. I wore #6 on just about every jersey I ever had in high school, juco and then years of redneck softball.

The front row has 3 Montgomery boys next to each other. #6 Trotman. #8 Jerry Beasley #9 Alan Bollinger
Bollinger punted one, maybe 2 years at AU. I was surprised he didn't play baseball at Auburn. I played against him for many years and the big, tall lefty could flat out hit.
#5 is Joe Sullivan, who I believe was the younger brother of Pat. I could...I say I could be wrong.

You'll appreciate this....
#57, fourth row, far right is another Montgomery boy.....South Montgomery county.
Gilbert Sellers - long snapper

Yeah. Joe was his younger brother.
Joe was still on the team Dye's first year. Don't think he started the game against Alabama, but I could swear he was in late. That was the game we had them on the ropes but Linnie Patrick racked up more yards than he had IQ points on a pair of fourth quarter runs to put the stake in that scrappy team.
Maybe Ken Hobby was the QB that started.
If you watch the highlights, I think you'll see Auburn running the Wildcat that Gus hadn't invented yet with Clayton Beauford coming in at QB too.
That game also featured Walter Lewis -- who would have won a Heisman in a 2010-2013 Gus offense.
That game was one of the best losses I can ever remember. When that game was over, I knew we had something special. The fight in that team gave me hope.
