Obviously, very little to talk about in the sports world, and while I have no problem with Tom Brady as a person or QB, I'm about done with seeing his mug on every sports channel 24/7. Having said that, I honestly can't recall a crazier off season on the Pass Thrower front. So, here are just a few of the what happened and what might be's:
Brady leaves The Pats and by all accounts, will sign with Tampa Bay. I never saw that coming. BTW, I saw a report that TB is the worst franchise in pro sports history....any sport. They are 157 games below .500 since their inception. If TB does go to TB, where does that leave Captain Crab Legs?
Philip Rivers signs a 1 year deal with the Colts for $25 large. Who do the Chargers get?
Carolina inks Teddy Bridgewater to a 3 year deal and by doing so, pushes Cam out the door after 9 years. Where does Newton wind up?
The Titans decided on Ryan Tannehill as their future signal caller, so end the speculation there.
Cincy will most certainly sign Joe Freakin' Burrow with the #1 pick, which leaves long time starter, Andy Dalton looking for work.
Word on Da' Skreetz is that Da' Bears are over the Mitchell Triscuit Biscuit experiment and will likely sign one of the high profile free agents. Cam?
What about New England? Right now, our very own Jarrett Stidham is the man, but I would think they'll try to land one of those free agents themselves. Cam? Dalton? Winston?
Then you have what looks to be a pretty good crop of guys coming out of the college ranks. Where do they fit in? Burrow should go to the Bengals. It seems the two teams most often talked about with Tua are the Dolphins and Redskins. Do the Skins sit Haskins after one season? Justin The Duck Herbert may be the sleeper out this bunch. Not that he's not well thought of. It just seems he's only mentioned after Burrow and Tua when talking about possible landing spots.
Thoughts? Speculation? Or more discussion about teh Coronas.

Tua sucks. Whoever drafts him is shoving money into a wild bat's ass.
-
Go ahead and shoot me for bringing up the feel good story, but I think Jalen Hurts may be the QB steal of the draft. That is, if someone drafts him. The guy has decent size, he's strong as an ox and his stats at OU are pretty dang impressive.
3,851 yards passing 32 TD and 8 INT 70% completion rate
1,298 yards rushing for 20 TD's.
Round 3 or later might make somebody look like a jeenyus.

The Dwayne Haskins of this draft.

The Dwayne Haskins of this draft.
He could be. But Haskins was one of the top rated QB's coming out, while many of the "experts" have projected Hurts playing some other position. I'd put him more in the category of Dak Prescott. He got pressed into service and they found out the guy can actually play a little quarterback.

Nick Foles (of Philly Special fame) traded from the Jags to da Bears.

Another door closes in Cam's face.

Cam and Stidham together in Boston!

Another door closes in Cam's face.
I don't even pretend to understand how salary caps/cap hits etc. work. It appears that Cam is set to make just under $17 mil this year and $19 mil next year before he's a free agent. With a lot of the QB contracts out there now, he's probably way underpaid at this point. Seems like it would make sense for a New England or whatever the Chargers are, to take on those two years and draft one coming out to learn behind Cam. Or maybe develop Stidham behind him at NE.
But then somebody who understands salary caps would probably give me 15 reasons why that's a idiotic idea.

You're starting to sound like the Colin Kaepernick truthers.
-
Cam will get a better gig than he has now. The Panthers tore it all down and are in the shitter for the foreseeable future. It would just be a matter of time before he was back on injured reserve with that bunch. He's too talented a QB and again, the price is right relatively speaking.

Baggage carries a lot of weight in the league. It was Ok for the tiny purple one, but nobody really cares for a giant purple one.

The fuck are you even talking about.
When this came up yesterday there were a handful of teams "on the clock" for Cam by most reports.
Chargers
Patriots
Broncos - Just signed Jeff Driskel, door ajar?
Bucs - Signed Brady, door closed
Bears - Traded for Foles, door closed
Raiders - Signed Mariotta, door closed
I don't know where or even if he will land, but the options are dwindling.

Broncos? Interesting. No way Driskel is signed as anything more than a back up.

Drew Lock is the guy in Denver. Driskel is there as a backup/camp body.
-
The Dwayne Haskins of this draft.
HASKINS isn't terrible. Washington is prob a harder place to play QB than Dallas. Hurts would also be a better "steal" past round 2. Id like to see him do well just to spite Bammer and Tuarrr.

Then Denver is toast.
Drew Lock?

Right now, Cam might actually be a rental for a year or two. That might be the perfect place for the "learn for a year or two behind the veteran" scenario.
However, I was seeing several things about the Chargers being a good possibility and one of their receivers pimping for the Newton. I wouldn't mind seeing that because he'd immediately have way more weapons.

Well, if you want to nit-pick the little things, fine.

So...it'd be a minor upgrade from Carolina.

You guys keep talking about Cam like he REALLY wants to play.
Are we sure he really wants to play?
I mean football, not dress-up.
