Title: Good news, bad news for Panthers
Post by: Kaos on January 14, 2020, 10:37:55 PM
Today was a mixed news bag for the Carolina Panthers.

The Good:

> Carolina stole offensive wizard Greg (what is his name?) Brady from LSU.  That hurts the Bayou Bengals while simultaneously, possibly giving Cam somebody young, innovative and creative to work with.  If anybody can get Cam back to being Cam?  It's Bobby Brady.

> Cam won the national Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity voting.  That means that despite all the negative press the guy gets, people do recognize his contributions to the community.  I think he's a good guy overall. Nice to see him get the recognition.

The Bad:

> Luke Kuechly retired. At 28.  Whoever Carolina played, Kuechly could make the case for being the best defensive player on the field.  Played hard, played clean.  One of the best I've ever seen.  Brought to mind maybe Pat Swilling, but more consistent.  There's no way to replace somebody like that physically or emotionally.  He was the heart of the best defenses Carolina ever put on the field.  He's leaving at the top of his physical capabilities and if he'd stayed he'd be a Hall of Fame type guy.

> Cam has apparently turned into a rabbit.  I saw a photo of him at a charity event and he had that garbage on top of his head pulled up into what appeared to be rabbit ears.  I don't want to crap on his individuality, but if I were Rhule, the first thing I'd make him do is eliminate the ridiculous outfits (at least until he's playing well enough to warrant the eccentricity) and cut that asinine shit off his head.

I still think Kuechly might be a HoF.  Guy was an animal. Some folks were surprised he retired. Not sure how close you have followed Kuechly's career, but wasn't all that surprising to me. He has had multiple concussions. I think his heart wanted to keep playing but his mind said do you want to live to be 50.  It's a shame like you said he was the heart of that defense.

Panthers are lining up for a "Tank for Trevor" run next year. Cam is as good as gone. You don't bring in an offensive wunderkind to work with a guy who is on the down slope of his career. The heart of the defense is gone. All they have is CMC to build around now. Gather draft picks, hunker down, prepare for the long game.

All right. I'll say it. 'Cause Truman was too much of a *pussy wimp* to let MacArthur go in there and blow out those Commie bastards!

In the right situation (aka NOT Dinosaurv Turner or Shula) Cam has another 8-10 good years.  Downslope my ass.  He’s in the prime of his career.

The Panthers are going to take Cam and a load of cash and send both to the Bengals in exchange for the #1 pick, which they will use to reunite Peter Brady with Joe Fucking Burrow.

Heard it on Finebaum so it must be true.

You are missing the obvious if you think that. Unless he's injecting stem cells into his joints on a daily basis, 3 to 4 years tops.
Also, Shula interviewed for yet another OC job in the NFL. I don't get what people keep missing on this guy. He can coach QBs; he can't coordinate an offensive game plan.

I burn all my Panthers gear (and I don't have that much) if this comes to fruition.

Calling Cam’s outfits ridiculous is ridiculous.

As if you never wear a scarf and a jumper. I’ve seen your fall wardrobe choices.
