I didn't start a Pre-Dick-Shuns thread last week with it simply being a crazy time. Thanksgiving...short week etc. But if I had, I certainly wouldn't have said there would be 90+ points scored, Auburn's gonna win the football game and they're not going to keep them off the field tonight.
Always happy for any win in the Iron Bowl. Maybe they're a little sweeter because they don't come around nearly as often as we'd like. Going in, I was convinced we were going to lose simply because every time we've faced a good defense, Gus has gone full tard with his laminated sheet of jeenyus. I saw us pulling our usual 14-20 points and Bama having too many weapons for us to keep them in that range.
I thought Bama would score their share, but I didn't see 515 yards and 45 points coming. In a word, we got shredded. It was one thing to see it on TV. It was another altogether to see those receivers in person running away from our DB's like we were running in quicksand.
But, we held our own on offense. We ran the ball better than expected and got NFL caliber catches by Hastings, Williams and Canola. Those things allowed us to keep pace with Bama and take full advantage of two Pee-Wee caliber throws by Mack Jones. Yes, they were gifts, but you have to have some crazy stuff go your way to win a game like this.
A few other notes. With the cascade of excuses raining down from Bama fans about calls and injuries, we had our share of adversity as well. Anthony Schwartz was injured on the first play of the game and I don't believe he set foot on the field again. Both Marlon Davidson and Derrick Brown suffered injuries. Marlon hobbled through the rest of the game and was a total non-factor. Brown was far less than 100% too, and without those two at full speed, said shreddage referenced above was a bit easier.
Thank you Anders for finally realizing that you get more points for kicking the ball BETWEEN those two poles. However, since I didn't listen to any of the post game comments, I assume I missed the reasoning as to why he suddenly lost the ability to kick a ball into the end zone. Anyone?
They didn't keep mini-Snags and me off the field Saturday. Couldn't get down there in 2013 so I wasn't going to miss this opportunity. It took us about 20 minutes to finally make it through the hedges, unlike the two cougars. Just as we made it through, a cop stops me and says nobody can go on the field. I looked at him and said there are 70,000 people on this field and you stop me? We didn't stop. We brought a piece of the hedges home. It was a good night.

Had we lost this game, Waddle would have been the new Fred Talley. Dude scored just about every tome he touched the ball
-
Stay off the field. I know nobody wants to hear that, but stay off it.
It gives those clowns this opportunity. Four or five times already since Saturday I've been forwarded the bullshit from Bama fans that says stuff like "When you beat us, you rush the field. You celebrate. You should. It's a momentous occasion. It's something you tell your grandkids about. It's a cherished moment in the history of your program. But never forget.... When Bama beats you? We call that Saturday."
I've lost friends over that. Did not respond well.

Lost in the praise being heaped upon Waddle:
He's their #4 receiver. It's a monumental task to corral that corps and our DBs deserve HUGE kudos for keeping most of the play in front of them and tackling well (relatively.)
Bama's going to get theirs but Ruggs (6/99/1), Smith (5/80/0) and Jeudy (5/26/0) were (relatively) quiet.
-
Jones was 26-39 335 yards and 6 TD's.
Fortunately, two of those touchdown passes were thrown to us.

Very true on the other 3. Judy especially was a non-factor. Waddle still lit us up though. Dude is fast!!

Pretty sure Clint Mosely would light it up with those receivers and an O line that is allowed to hold every play

Again. Supporting my long-held position that Tempest Twadkapoosa isn't what he's hyped up to be. Anybody could do it.

That's just crazy talk. Nobody can throw from this position.

Tell them what I tell'em. We rush the field for two reasons.
First, it's a chance for us to celebrate more as a family.
Secondly, we can afford to pay the fines levied by the SEC for doing so unlike your trailer park ass.

While I’m being a crusty bitch let me add one more.
Can we stop “naming†the fucking game? Ohh. Let’s call it Pick Six!!! No. We should name it “One More Second!â€
I get that we started it with Punt Bama Punt. That was legit. But fuck all, we don’t have to name every time we beat their ass. Fuck that noise. It should be called 2019. End.

Agree. We couldn't slow Waddle but our guys did a really nice job containing the others.

Also, I tell people look I was there we didn't rush the field the game was a good 5 minutes over. It was more of a hey...let's all go and party on the field.
