Vols vs. Gaytah
Playing in Gainesville and the reptiles are undefeated, while UT has looked like road kill in 2 of their first 3. Flipee Franks is gone for the season so UF goes with a back up. Most fans I've heard think that's a good thing because they haven't been very good offensively anyway. No way the Vols can be as abysmal as they were the first two weeks. I've even thought about this one as the upset special, but I can't quite go there since it's in Gainesville.

Notre Dame vs. FUGA
I don't think I've ever pulled for ND in any game. Maybe the MNC against Bama, but that game was over when they walked past the Tide in the tunnel on the way to the field. I'm quite certain I heard several, "Oh shit" (s) Tomorrow, I'll be Snaggy O'Conor all day. From what I've seen of the Irish, they look talented and have a pretty decent QB taking snaps in Ian Book. More than likely, they are their usual overrated self. Maybe it's because my memory is failing me in my golden years, but I can't recall the last time ND went on the road and won a big game. Anyone? Bueller? As for FUGA....Fuck Georgia! However:

AU vs. A&M
This is a big one, peeps. This probably sets the tone for the rest of the season, actually for both teams. A&M was handled easily by Clemson, but I was on the road and didn't see one play of it. Conventional wisdom says getting handled at Clemson these days is to be expected and Vegas definitely thought so with the huge line they set on that game. A&M is down to their 3rd string RB, which is a good thing for us since as Wes pointed out, Trayveon Williams went Fred Talley on us last year. Good thing he's gone and the next two up are on the sidelines.
For Auburn, this game means 10-2 or 6-6, IMO. This is a winnable game on the road. In fact, the road team usually wins in this series. I listened to some of Malzahn's radio show last night and the only thing I got outside of the endless coach speak droning, was that Nix needs to get on the edge more, like he did on several keepers last week. Otherwise, we're Titty Whit between the tackles 25 times and that ain't gonna' cut it against this bunch. Not that he said it, but I do think we'll see some plays tomorrow that make us realize Gus really has been playing vanilla because he's too paranoid to show his hand. Anyway, we've always played well in College Station and I think Bo Nix and our D get it done tomorrow.

Yeah I agree with your picks.
The consensus on Florida seems to be that the new QB is better than Franks which should in turn give them a better advantage over UT.
Our game is going to be a nail biter.
Really think it comes down to last possession. Could really be a confidence booster...or killer going forward. We win with a FG at the finish.
UGA ought to handle the Irish. They don't have to annihilate them to prove anything so two touchdowns is about right.

Wisconsin hasn't played anybody and I look for Meechigan to make it a tight one. Got nothing for Harbaugh but his team has at least been tested.
TCU getting some receiver help back although they alternate QBs. Still playing good defense as usual.
SMU looks really good on paper so I like the Horned Frogs.
Pulling for frosty, frizzy mullet against the Steerboys.

I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work.
I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully.
I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.
I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.
I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.
I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.
I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by "doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God."
And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

Auburn's offense is nowhere near the league of Clemson and the limitations on offense - specifically, the inability to get the run game going - are going to cost Auburn several games this season, starting with this one. The Aggies are smart and efficient on offense. And make no mistake, they'll need to be patient in order for things to start working against Auburn. However, Jimbo Fisher and his staff can out scheme and outlast Auburn if they will stick with what works well - using QB Kellen Mond in space to find his fellow playmakers. This should be a back and forth game, but give the edge to the home team with more known quantities than the visitors. Could the beginning of the end for the Malzahn era start in College Station?

We may not win, but I don't think aTm scores 27 on us. Kellen Mond looks very mediocre without last years superstar WR and RB. I expect the final score to be 14-17 type of game.

I believe we stomp tamu's ass in front of God and everybody. Pages 5-12 of the offensive playbook.
Nix takes to the air with Schwartz getting the ball in open space and a cloud of dust. (160 yds receiving). Mr. Williams will have several receptions but will be limited to 62 yards receiving. Matthews Hill shows up and shows up big with 120 yds receiving.
What does that say? It says our running game is still suspect, so we'll have to air raid to win. Rushing yards 215 (40 yards of those yards belong to Nix).
On defense, I believe we crush their asses in a big way. Demoralizing them in the first quarter with shifts and blitz packages. Steele puts the pedal to the metal after the first quarter. In the second half, we use nitro on dat ass.
Special teams may show slight improvement, but may still be a thorn in our side.
Not even close.

Rather than making predictions for tomorrow because the only thing I’ve figured out about college football is I don’t know shit, I’ll just put my bets for tomorrow with a single prediction.
Northwestern +9
LSU/Vandy u62.5
UMass +16.5
Ohio -3
UCF -10.5
SMU +8.5
UAB -11
FSU/Louisville u61
As for my 1 prediction?
I predict that Nick Saban can go fuck himself for complaining about fans leaving games when they are scheduling New Mexico State, Duke and Southern Miss in the month of September when its 98 every damn day. He’d be real pissed to know that I’ll be sitting on my couch in the air conditioning and won’t even watch the end of the game because I don’t care who the 4th string linemen are I damn sure don’t want to see them play when real competitive games are on.

It should have been 42-20 (two overthrows), and maybe even a third touchdown missed.

I whiffed and am pleasantly surprised. However, Bo Nix can’t hit the broad side of a barn.

He was 12-20 for 118 and no INTs. Ran for 38.
As he learns to take a breath and hit the wide open guys(3 misses), we will rocket past some folks.
So “broad side of a barn†might be a bit strong.

Agree.
I'm not worried about Nix at all. Okay maybe his health.
His accuracy will improve and we have the leadership we need out there. Not forcing too much or taking bad loses shows he has that built-in awareness.
Already know this kid will find a way to work us in scoring position, use the sideline/spike or whatever's necessary...without prompting.
Also:
Not so easy to get in a throwing rythym when you're busy reading linebackers and ends.

Wow you really have an ax to grind with this freshman.
-
Nix has had his issues with hitting the wide open receiver down field. I threw my hat into the sofa more than once. However....he's making better and better decisions every game both in the run and pass. What he does very well is not make freshman mistakes. If the play is not there, he lives to fight another day. It's funny that he only threw for 100 yards and I thought he had his best game.

Thought the same. Seemed like much more.
Hastings was looking inside, then turned to the outside and broke stride.
Was an overthrow but he never saw the ball.
