this country is so divided. Flipping channels this morning while shoveling a big bowl of nutritious Cocoa Crusty Crackles in my face, and I came across CNN. Sometimes, I'll pause just to see what they've come up with this particular hour to skewer Trump. Yep, some guy is going down a list of similarities between Trump and some dictator of Hungary, Bumfuck Egypt or some such.
This dictator put up barbed wire at his country's borders.
He didn't want different races co-mingling.
He wanted total control over the media.....and on and on and on.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so damn dangerous and irresponsible. 24/7/365, CNN and MSNBC and most other "news" organizations are running a non-stop, vitriolic smear campaign against the President. I read an article this morning on a women's soccer star who took a knee a couple of years ago during the anthem. She actually said that she's protesting Trump's policies against people who don't "Look like him". Where in the hell did you get that from? Oh yeah, see CNN above. 24/7/365.

Having to listen to that in the airports I'm constantly amazed at the direction they take on things.
Recent discussion with a 20-something friend(s) of my daughter(s)es:

What has he ever done that's racist. Name anything.

Oh, you mean the highest wages and lowest unemployment for blacks and hispanics in the history of the country? He hates them that much?

So you've never in your life walked past somebody and said to your friend "I'd like to tap that. I'd like to pour my syrup on her pancakes!

Neither was he when he said that -- TWENTY years ago, like before you were born. So you're saying you can never be president because you wanted to tap some ass? That means the only people who can be president are eunuchs?

Explain how securing the borders and managing immigration is hateful?

I cannot count how many times I have had this almost exact discussion. The inability to produce a fact of anything other than "well he just is" boggles my mind.

What's funny is the people who will be calling for a boycott of Alabama will be people who have no intentions of ever visiting.
Look, regardless of how I feel about abortion, I've always thought it best left up to the states to decide. Live there and don't like the law? Vote for politicians who will change it. People in the other 49 states, myself included, should just shut the fuck up about the specifics of the law, since it doesn't concern us.

I'm probably in the minority nationwide, but I don't agree with the "woman's body" argument.
Once there is a living being within, it's no longer just "her" body.
I don't even agree with the "could it live on the outside" argument. Once there is movement, heartbeat or anything like that which approximates life -- the host (aka woman) no longer has the right to extinguish that life.

I’m torn on the abortion stance. Part of me believes it is murder once there is a heartbeat. The other side believes we need population control and my belief is 7 out of 10 women who opt for abortion were going to do a shitty job raising anyway, creating more mouths for the state to feed.

I don't disagree with this at all.
When I was building my platform to run for governor and then become president (years ago) it was my idea that in order to have children you should be required to apply, pass a basic parenting course and prove your ability to raise the child (proper housing, adequate income to feed, etc.). Prior to that use the birth control inserts or whatever. Same for guys. Remove ability to procreate until they can prove their ability to support children. There was a guy where I lived who by the time he was 25 had 22 children by 16 different women. I admire his potency and ability to lure young women into his bed, but this twerp was financially unable to support any of them.
Surprisingly? People with whom I discussed this plan called me Hitler.
