Title: Number 6
Post by: Snaggletiger on February 03, 2019, 11:58:39 PM
The Pat's win #6 tonight.  Not a great game by any means but you have to respect the New England D in holding the Rams to 3.

GOAT.  Like em, love em, hate em, you cant deny the success.

Okay, weakest commercials I've ever seen.  Fail!!!

Halftime.  Totally subjective.  I get it.  I thought it was solid.  Maroon 5 sampled their hits from beginning to the present.  Mixed in other artists and didn't try to make it the production of all time.  Decent show.

ATL representes.

Saban approves your post.

BTW. Another year without watching one damn kneeler game.

I’ll give them another chance next season. One kneeler on opening day and I’m gone again.

Worst SB of my lifetime from start to finish.

Awful QB play for the most part, HORRENDOUS hafltime show (if Big Boi can't salvage what you're doing, then you really fucked it up) and another ring for cheatin' ass Belichik.

At least Jones and King got another ring.

I see all the hot-take outrage about how "boring" the game was. I thought this Super Bowl was a display of the defensive prowess for both teams. But if you are a drug-addled, video-game junkie who doesn't appreciate nuanced football, you probably hated it.

I'll have you know that I do not play video games, fucko.

Yadda yadda about the defensive matchups and the genius of Bum's kid and Cheatin Ass Belichik...but that was just bad scheming, execution and effort by both offenses.

What cheating did Tom and Bill do to win this Super Bowl?

Regardless, this proves once again - more times than not that a Good D will beat a Good O at the end of the day. I saw it this season in all 3 - HS, Cfb and nfl title games at the highest level. For all the hoopla over Bama and the rams/saints/chiefs - defense won out.

He was probably offended by the male nipples on display and the double standard applied to Janet Jackson by the white patriarchy that is the NFL.

Twitter-mob is mad Edelman won the SB MVP after being popped for PED's early in the season. I think it's a great example of putting in the work to get back on top after you screw up. Of course in our outrage-centric culture now, the mod wants him tarred, feathered, and beheaded at the Great Sept.

the game, well it was blah...you have the 2 top offenses in the post season playing each other.  both in the top 5, regular season  yeah, i expected more.  i wanted more. the fans wanted more.  Romo wanted more.  can't disregard "look kids the Patriots" we know "Gisele".

the commercials were meh.  a couple were WTF.  some were, no i'm not buying your product.  a couple i laughed.  one was entertaining. many were not memorable

[side note:  the Vegan world is taking issue with Hyundai's commercial and same with PETA  regarding Big Boi's fur coat]

halftime was bizarre.  i like Maroon 5 ...they just don't have the BOOM! factor for a halftime super bowl mix. given the number of ATL's entertainers the NFL had better choices.  Kris Kross make you jump, jump.

stand out goes the  Thunder Birds and Gladys Knight.  Romo too...props to him in making it to the Super Bowl.

“Twitter mob”.  There’s your first problem.

Twitter is probably the worst invention of the last 300 years.  It gives every ranting lunatic a platform and the fallacious belief that they have something important to say.

It’s where the shrieking minorty runs to stomp its collective feet and throw tantrums.

Hyundai and Jason Bateman had to apologize because in characterizing vegan dinner party with beetloaf as a bad thing they sparked outrage from the 1/3 of 1% of the population that claims to be vegan.

Ridiculous.

Also ridiculous? The autocorrect on this site from my phophone.

Im not going to correct this next statement.

Neither batsmen nor guys dia should have to apologiof for anything.  It’s sad that we have gone so cos to political correctlenas. That we have no sense of jumps.  Everybiy is just looking for an exsusr to time sometimes to be outraged about.  Why cares what vegans think about a car at?  If you’re iffenser. Screnyib.

If you read that in Jar Jar Binks voice, it's highly entertaining. Recommend.

What was horrendous about the halftime show?

Everything not named Big Boi.

Maroon 5 is the vanilla ice cream of music.  Soft, easy and inoffensive.

I couldn't hear a word Travis Scott said.

The drumline was oddly out of place.

Then Big Boi showed up to make things jump off like they should.

Then the show sucked again.

Watched "Mic'd Up" on NFL Network last night.  It was on the this past Sunday's Super Bowl.  Think slo-mo NFL films with "live" talk among players and coaches in between.  It was damn good. A few of things I noticed were that first, you can't cover Edelman.  Two people can't cover him.  Maybe not 3.  The guy is unbelievably quick and makes cuts like nobody I've ever seen.  Also, the difference in the game to me was how the Patriots line handled Suh and Donald.  Those two, especially Donald, are beasts and the Pats line either beat that ass or at least neutralized them all night.

One thing that stood out was how Bellychick was on the sideline.  Totally night and day from the asshole that shits on reporters in press conferences.  He's in total control, calm and calculating about everything going on during the game.  Actually has a personality.  But at the same time, he lets his coordinators do their thing.

At one point in the game right after a play, Suh was giving Donald pointers on how to rush and what move to make when the tight end was on his side.  I was thinking you're telling the best defensive player in the game how to do his job.

Another thing was a play where Donald got to Brady right after he released the ball and he threw Brady hard to the turf.  The ref runs up to Donald and tells him "A-A-Ron, you've got to be smarter than that.  I had my hand on the flag but I let it go.  Play smart."

I love that stuff.  I'd like to work the first down chains just to be amongst it and hear what really goes on.
