Title: Tesla's new album
Post by: Ranger12 on October 08, 2008, 02:59:18 PM
It dropped yesterday and I have already heard most of it. It has a real good song about a fallen soldier called "Pvt. Ledbetter".

The album did not disappoint me. Tesla did not change their sound and this album rocks as hard as their older albums.

Ah but would a Yeti rock out to it?

I felt the same way about Candlebox's new album.

Tesla was unfairly lumped in with the hair bands.  They wrote some great rock songs and never seemed to pander to the hairspray/eyeshadow crowd.

Bonus question:  What was the inspiration for the song "What You Give"?

Yeah, I have never considered Tesla a hair band in the type as the Motley Crue and Poisons. Tesla can unplug and still rock just as hard as they can with amps, which is something a lot of the "Glam Rock" bands can't pull of.

I give up Wes, what was the inspiration for the song? It seems like I remember hearing something about it several years ago, but my memory is not that good.

He wrote that song about his dog.

He and Steve are probably pen pals. Wouldn't doubt if Steve get's royalties from the song.

I wish....no it was a bad day in the financial markets.  I started to type something, don't remember what I was going to say.

What's with 80's metal bands coming out of the woodwork and rocking our faces off in this one month span?

I listened to "I Wanna Live" and "So What!". Not bad. Not as awesome as Metallica's, or what I'm hoping AC/DC's will be.

Yeah, I had also caught the timing of all the "classic" rockers releasing new studio albums and wondered what the deal was. My 16 year old daughter told me that the "in" music with many teenage boys has been classic rock, so that may have something to do with it.

I heard a preview of one of the new AC/DC songs a couple of weeks ago and it sounded pretty good.
