Title: Predictions & Betting
Post by: Snaggletiger on October 23, 2018, 05:13:40 PM
Outside of Florida and F-Georgia, there are very few great match ups this weekend.  So, just a few predictions on SEC games.  Feel free to add any others you have interest in.  I don't understand much in the ways of the bets and why lines are set the way they are.  In certain cases, is Vegas trying encourage money being thrown at one team or another?  If so, how do you set a line to do that.

UGA  24

Go Gayta  20

I'm picking the hated F-Dogs to win.  They're favored by 7, but isn't that a pretty big number considering these two are only 2-3 places apart in the rankings.  Playing on a neutral field and Georgia coming off a straight up ass whoopin' against a legit D.

TA&M  30

Starvegas Bulldogs  17

Again, this line has me bedazzled.  MSU favored by 3.  It is in Starkville, but A&M is ranked number 16 and Fitzgermals looked so bad this past Saturday, the announcers were saying he needed to be yanked.

Kentucky 28

Mizzou 27

I care nothing about this game but again, the line has me puzzled like an unfrozen cave man.  Tigers by 6.5.  Yes, it's in Missouri but UK comes in at #12 and everything to play for.

New Hulu series I think.
Good ole Hulu fires a warning tweet to everyone about appropriate Halloween costumes.
Sadly, the new disappointing Michael Myers didn't murder Hulu.

I thought you were only doing blackface from the waist down these days.

I don't know anything about betting, but I got predictions just the same.

Mouthy Mutts - 24
Gaytors - 20
I expect a close game. Franks will be a challenge for the Dawgs but they should rise to the occasion. Georgia run game is the difference.

White Outs - 20
Cornfields - 17
If this was in Iowa City, I'd pick the other way. But the lions of nittany are hard to beat a home.

Blue Balls - 21
Golden Tiggers - 14
Kentucky likes low-scoring, grind it out games. Mizzou's offense looks like trash against any modicum of defense. Kentucky has a modicum of that.

The Next Team to Beat Auburn - 34
The Team That Beat Auburn with Referee Help II - 16
Ain't buying the lesser pound puppies and their one-dimensional, cromagnon offense. Jimbo's defense is playing great and he gets that offense to click and move on just about everybody.

West Coast Notre Dame - 26
Pirates of the Pacific Northwest - 21
Every time Mike Leach gets a team on a roll and they score a big upset, they screw the pooch soon thereafter. Stanford isn't as good as they have been in recent years, but they are good enough to handle the Air Fraud offense.

We told you Devin White was a menace    38
Wish we had a Devin White    20

The Librarian    27
The Libertarian  13

Basketball can wait   31
Our OL can't punch for shit   28

Georgia Tech 49, Virginia Tech 28

Paul Johnson ran the ball 78 times for 465 yards and 7 TDs on the vaunted Bud Foster and his Hopeless Hokie defense. Held the ball for 42+ minutes, too. I love it when that offense works. It's fun to watch. Unlike Auburn's offense which is frustrating and annoying.

My brother with the take of the weekend: “Want to mess with the Texas Longhorns?  Rank em in the top ten - they handle that like Auburn.”
