I'd like to see that logo again. Anybody remember what it looked like or have a photo of it?

I know for sure they were eagles. Barfield, Iâ€™m pretty sure, started the practice of putting them on helmets for big plays (like OSU with the buckeyes and UGA with the bones).

Dumb story but I copied them for softball when I was helping coach a womenâ€™s team in 1980.

There was some story back then about how they were designed and what the angles/curves represented. Iâ€™ve got kids in college doing marketing research and I thought theyâ€™d be a good example of an idea that wasnâ€™t bad but was rejected by the consumer. Everybody else is doing New Coke. Ha.

I didnâ€™t expect the story of the helmet stickers being this hard to find.

About 3/4 way down the page I saw War Eagle Reader, I knew if anyone had it they would.
