Take a look at the routes. The ball is out within 3 seconds mots of the time. We had dig routes. Stop routes. Out routes. Crossing routes. And f you watch the receivers, once they pass the CB in zone, they slow down so there is space between CB and S. Also on the shorter inside routes, the WRs know how to sit down in the zone.
So where did those routes go? Is the WR coaching SO bad that WRs just run WFO regardless of where the defender is?
Its like Gus just moved on from what worked.

Just a thing of beauty. Seems so long ago.

You know the one thing I saw that all those plays had in common?
Chris the Jet had at least 3-5 seconds in the pocket to make those throws. Well...most of them anyway.

If you count, he usually got rid of the ball right at or before 3. Most were quicker. So throw away the long ones and you still have a very effective short game!
For the most part, he knew where the open guy would be. He wasn't just looking around waiting for a guy to wave his arms. There were some very nice tight windows.
It was a better scheme. Where did that scheme go?

Could be as simple as the coarch drawing up the routes. Could also be that those guys knew their way around a jar of rice.

As bad as our O-line is, this past Saturday was a prime example of the fact that more often than not, Stidham has that kind of time. I can't tell you how many times he stood back there holding the ball with a wide open receiver in his sights. The crowd was hollering for him to throw it and by the time he pulled the trigger, the defender had closed the gap.
There were several throws he made, quick slant to Seth Williams, that were beautiful. It just appears that he HAS to know where he's going with it at the snap. If it's up to him to choose an open receiver, he's toast.

And this is why Todd should have been retained as our QB coach...timing, ball fakes, quick release and pocket presence.

So basically from Gus' first year he had no idea how to evaluate talent!

Whatever, we had Kodi Burns (a Malzahn QB) & Neil Caudle, and some other guys, then Keihl Frazier (another Malzahn QB)...yeah, nevermind, he has no business being a HC or talent evaluator at all...ever. I know I said it before, I think it was last week, but I'm done. Fuck Malzahn, Fuck everyone responsible for letting Jimmy GODDAMN Sexton screw us over AGAIN!!!!!! Fuck the Mega-Jacobs-Cancer-Tron, when does basketball season start? Do they do Tiger Walk before basketball games or do the fans just go inside and get their seats? I'm kinda new to the whole AU basketball stuff, are the chants still the same or will I need to learn new ones? How many games do we play, like 140 or something? Do the pre-season tournaments, like the one in Hawaii, really matter...I mean, do they count? I'm so excited.

It's a consistent problem.
We never hear of Pettway if Kerryon doesn't get hurt.
He agonized over Trotter/Moseley
Ruined Frazier
I love Cam and am so very glad he didn't come back for a second year to let Malzahn skull fuck him from first pick of the draft to UFA.

In all of your years, have you ever known of a greater waste of talent (potentially) than this receiver group, arguably the best in Auburn history?
Even with the loss of Stove and Hastings to injury and the transfers of Harris and Craig-Meyers we still have a group that would lead some o.c.'s to think they had hit the jackpot...and we can't get them the ball. Even with a deficient offensive line and whatever the hell has happened to Stidham, this just can't be.
We've had disappointment in various ways over the years but the utter waste of this much talent is the hardest for me to stomach. Truly mind blowing.
