I think I am watching the most inept AU offense as long as I can remember. It would not matter who our QB is, as seen tonight, our play calling is pathetic. I am officially on the "fire Tony Franklin" bandwagon. I should have been more skeptical of a guy who goes around selling his offense to high schools.
Not taking away anything from Vandy. I think Bobby Johnson has been one of the most underrated coaches the last few years and should have been a candidate for bigger jobs. He will now for sure. However, we are better then this crap I am seeing.

He drops kodi straight back in the pocket for like the last 6 or 8 passes he attempted. Then on the second pass when he brings todd in he rolls him out to the right????????????????????
Are you fucking kiddng me? You drop the running/throwing qb back deep and roll out the "pocket passer".
It's like he doesn't want to give burns a chance to play towards his strengths. It's like he was sabotaging the playcallin towards burns so he can justify playing todd all the way.
Did someone tell todd we had one play left on first down with two minutes left in the game? I can't think of any other reason to throw it up for grabs.

I don't think it matters who our QB is. I saw pathetic play calling with both QBs. On 4th and 1 we line up in the shotgun and pitch out to Tate, barely getting the first down. We would you put yourself 3-4 yards deeper at the snap in 4th and 1 and the game on the line? Both QBs have problems and I don't see much difference between the offense with either one of them in.
Todd's arm is weak and Burn's is inconsistent. Burns is more mobile, but the defense knows that when he is in the game, the odds that we are running the ball greatly increases. With Todd, they have to respect the pass a little more then they do with Burns. Notice I said just a little more. I think CTT really said a lot this past week when he made the comment that sort of alluded that we don't have the talent to run this offense yet. If so, we need to to like we did in the first half and put the QB under center and run the ball. Thing is, I am not sure I want Tony Franklin around long enough to get the right talent in.

There's no doubt whatsoever that Franklin needs to receive his severence pay and shown the door. Immediately. I'm not 100% certain they don't need to call Tommy in for a heart to heart.
First off, let's discuss Franklin. Not a lot needed here. This guy calls the plays. He designs the offense. He...not CTT...wanted Chris Todd. His play calling boggles the mind of most 6th graders. They can't decide which offense to run and when they do...it's blatantly...BLATANTLY the wrong call. 2nd and 1 and you need to drive the length of the field and you're in the shotgun. Chris Todd....well, let's just say, there was a point when I announced to everyone in the room that if Todd came in next series, Tuberville needs to be treated like Steinbrenner treated Billy Martin.
Now, Tommy Tuberville. This is when we need Stat Tiger to confirm this. But, I think I saw where this team has gotten progressively worse in the SEC since 2004. We have 2 losses at this point and there's no one other than Tenn. Martin left on our schedule that we have ANY chance of beating. Those naysayers, please explain how this offense will score enough to beat Arkansas, Ole Miss, Georgia, West Virginia or Alabama. Please, someone try to spin this shit.
Now, let me be clear. This was a team effort. Have you ever seen an offensive line desintigtrate like this one. This was VANDERBILT. I'm not talking about the name. I'm referring to the LAST PLACE defense in the SEC. They ate Tommy Tuberville, Hugh Nall and Tony Franklin's pany fuckin' ass offense for lunch.
Oh...OH....OOOOHHH...and can someone EXPLAIN to me how you go under center for two series to start the game and rip off 12-13 yards a pop....and NEVER go back to it? PLEEEEASE...some one explain that shit. Does anyone need more evidence to support the premise that CTT and this entire staff have freakin' LOST IT???? I'm out!!!

It's the same question I started asking when the same thing happened against Tennessee. There is NO hiding and NO spin that excuses going away from what worked for two straight games in two straight first quarters, and then completely abandoned.
Complete failure of a coaching staff. No excuse. None. Zero.

It's more than just playcalling, although that is critical. Go back and look at the doomsday article I wrote after the first week.
Pathetic fundamentals by the quarterback, in particular, plague this team. Pathetic.
This ranks up there with among the worst debacles in Auburn football history. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a more humiliating loss except perhaps the loss to Memphis during the Barfield years.
What's even sadder is that we could all see it coming.
BTW, did that awesome Tennessee defense save their bacon against Sister Mary's of the Poor tonight?

You guys cheer up, me and my Hogs are coming to town next week, and we can make anyone's offense look good. We make so many mistakes on special teams, you'll end up with a short field at least a couple times.

The Under Center plays that we ran in the first half were nearly all the same, except for the four that were run on the 2 yard line...and they were the same as well. Talk about being innovative....LOL, Mother Fucker.

Also, Rod Smith said he was told, by CTT, to expect Major Changes tomorrow and, RS also said, that he isn't sure if Auburn will be running the Spread as of tomorrow.
Sen'D said that he's going in for X-Rays tomorrow for his ankle, as he was walking off the field. IMO, it's just a sprain....how severe I don't know.

Hogwally get this message to your DC......BLITZ!!!! Tackle the RB on the way to the QB. Even if the OLinemen and the blocking back pick the blitz up, it'll confuse the Fuck outta the QB and he'll either take the sack, throw into the turf, throw a pick, or throw it way over everyone's head....no matter who's back there. Also, tell the DT/NG that whenever Auburn lines up under center....be prepared to jump on the ball, because there's a Really, Really good chance that it'll be on the turf, atleast twice.

Burns was 2/6 and Todd 8/16 passing. Burns was -6 and Todd -11 in rushing. Neither QB is really getting the job done when they are in the game, so why not throw Caudle in there and see what he can do? If he could do worse, then I would question why he is even on the team to begin with.
Ben Tate had 108 yards rushing on 27 carries. Lester had 12 yards with 2 carries. Fannin had 8 yards with 3 runs. Tristan Davis had only 1 run for no gain. So, can somebody please explain to me why we are not giving our only play makers more touches? Heck, I would rather take my chance with fumbles then having less then half our passes completed. I also think it hurt us that Dunn was out since he seemed to be the only consistent "big play guy" we have had this year.
Let's not forget that we missed a freakin' extra point that would have at least put the game in OT, not that our offense or kicking game would have won in OT either. Our kicking game has been less then spectacular this year. Missed PATs, FGs, and several kickoffs out of bounds.

Lets not forget this was Vanderbilt. One of the worst offensive and defensive teams in the nation. This should not have come down to an extra point or field goal.

This years offense has been the worst fucking product that I have seen AU put on the field ever. It just makes me fucking sick to watch them stumble around like they are lost out there. We had the damn ball 1st and goal from the fucking 4, and ran the same fucking play three times for nothing, then that fucking genious OC we have, said hey that's not working but if we run the same formation and play to the other side on 4th down it will. What a putz. We never tried to stretch the field when we had Burns in the game. Why not? And don't think that I am saying Burns is the answer either. Neither of them did a damn thing to impress me last night, I agree with someone else on here, lets see what Caudle can do. Do you think that the coaches noticed how Vandy put on a clinic of how to run the fucking spread? I hope they did, because the rest of the fucking country sure did. One more thing, congrats to the Oline, those boys sure manned up and played ball huh. :sad:

For the first time in my adult life, I actually walked out on an Auburn game while watching. When Auburn came out on 4th and 1 and ran the outside hand off to Tate, I quit. The bad thing is I called my dad and asked if Auburn looked any better after I left, and he said he turned the game off and started watching a movie. he has NEVER done that and my dad doesn't even like movies...
I am with you Jarhead. Auburn football is no longer fun to watch. It is embarrassing and unbelievably frustrating. I am not even looking forward to the rest of the year and that is a sad realization...

It is embarrassing, and I absolutely hate saying that.
But why has no one here mentioned the penalties and special teams play? We are almost averaging 8 penalties a game, and it killed our attempt for the go-ahead field goal last night. That average puts us 19th to last place amongst all Division 1-A teams.
Let's not forget a missed PAT...what the fuck is that? We should never, ever miss a PAT. It should be the easiest thing to execute on the field.

I feel your pain guys, I myself walked out of the room only to walk back in and see it get no better. I had tics to the game this weekend and it would have been the first game this year that my brother could go, but the wife sold them to some co-workers today. I can't make myself spend 8 hours driving and have to watch our offense play like they do. I honestly don't see myself heading back down anymore this season unless something drastically changes. :sad:
