Well, it's May and the pre-season mags are already hitting the stands. Picked up the Street & Smith version this weekend because it had the ultra-important heights and weights readily available for each team. That's the true indicator of how your season will go. Trust me, I have a formula. On Auburn, S&S has us at #12. Okay, that's reasonable. They list Jarrett Studham as one of the top Heisman candidates. They also say our D-line is one of, if not the best in the country. Funny how they didn't put them in the top 5 with the unit rankings. No matter.
What I wasn't expecting is what they thought of our opening day opponent, Washington. They're #7 in S&S and #8 in Athlon's poll and the heavy favorite to win the PAC 10...or 12...or whatever. All their top playmakers, including QB Jake Browning, are back and all seniors. Frick! I knew they would be a tough opening game, but I didn't know the Huskies would most likely come in favored. BTW, this will be the 3rd straight game for the Tiggers in Merky D's Dome. We are currently 0-2 in that building. Cue the Debbie Downer sound effect. Waaa Waaaaaaa.....

Those of us who actually know and understand football aren’t surprised about Washington.
Don James is a hell of a coach.

They still play in the Pac 12
~~~Flashback to 2003 ~~~
Now everyone this side is gonna say TOUCHDOWN....
This side is gonna say AUBURN...
Let's practice! Count off...1...2...
Oh man. That is a chilling memory.
Was on the sidelines standing next to a grizzled old Bham News photographer. He called the bad juju as it happened.
Didn’t score a TD until the third week of the season. Didn’t score a home TD for about a month. Season died a bitter death when Ben obomonanonanu dropped a TD pass against Ole Miss.
One word describes 2003. Okay, 2 words put together. Actually, a part of two names put together. Nallsminger. One of the top 3 misuses of talent in the history of college football.
I was up in section 42 and turned to my brother and said we shouldn't be doing this....this is bad. What if we don't score?
I so wanted to beat those sissy surf boys.
Early lines I've seen have us at -3.5 on opening weekend.
NO!!! That dome has it in for us.
Perfect set up too. Washington coached by Scientologist Peterson comes down south and against odds, whips Gus in the dome.
