Title: Almost exactly 76 years ago this moment
Post by: Buzz Killington on December 07, 2017, 10:48:15 AM
The first wave of Japanese fighters started the attack of Pearl Harbor.

Never forget.

Why do we have a friendly, prosperous relationship with Japan today while we do not with Vietnam or North Korea or the Middle East?

Think about that.  Essays are due at 3 pm.

I've wondered that before too...at least with Vietnam. Same with Germany (not a prosperous one until recently) for a while. I heard someone once say they'd never buy one of those German cars because they were the country of nazis. Totally erasing imperial Japan and Pearl Harbor selectively. But anywho. Prob has more to do with our intense involvement in rebuilding Japan and also the fact we won. Whereas the others we really didn't.

I have a jd with the commercial grade Briggs and a husq with the kohler. But I've also seen a husq with a honda as well as a Troy bilt with Honda.

I have to think they aren't much different than the Honda branded mowers other than getting an extra 150 out of you for the Honda mower.

A.

It’s about that’s simple.

We destroyed the ruling party.  We made it clear what fucking with us gets you. Then we said “here, let us help all you people who weren’t part of those situations to rebuild your country.

We should do this to the Middle East.

76 years ago and no young person alive today has any personal connection to that war!

My granddaddy served in the Navy. My great uncle died in the Navy. Friendly fire. Communication blackout and our planes thought his ship was the enemy. Dropped one right down the stack. Knew and talked to it her old men that served. All gone now!

My grandfather was in the Army and a part of the cleanup effort after the attacks.  He died when I was 18, but he did tell me many stories about what he saw there.

Any of you interested in the cleanup part, there was a really good book written on it by a Navy diver called "Descent into Darkness".
