Title: The reason Barkley was so confident on Gameday
Post by: AUownsU on November 27, 2017, 06:42:22 PM
.. appropriately dubbing it "the Kick Ass," was apparently he had talked to Gus before the game.

Rumor A fact floating around on the net thanks to Jay Tate and confirmed by others is during the post game handshake between Gus and Kirby the following exchange took place...

Gus: See you again in 3 weeks.
Kirby (with a stunned look): Yea. I'm going tell Nick you said that.
Gus (Pats him on the back before walking off): You do that.

IMO, This is probably the greatest thing I've seen or heard post Iron Bowl. The 2nd would be this salty gump standing in the crowd..

If this is fact then this gets him a raise in my book.  Anybody that will smack talk like that is who I want leading the singing.

You're preaching to the choir.  No wait....I mean Malzahn is.

Gentleman. It has been confirmed. Gus swinging the big dick.

On Friday, Smart said that’s how the conversation went down.

“That’s pretty close,” Smart said when a reporter repeated the exchange. “We were talking about it today when I saw him. I said, ‘You held up your end of the bargain.’ ”

According to Smart, Malzahn then asked the Georgia coach if he told Saban — his former boss at Alabama — about what he said.

“He asked if I did, and I told him I never did,” Smart said. “But he held up his end of the bargain, and they got back to Atlanta.”

When I first read this the thing that popped into my head was that this was the stuff of myth as in: the Bear once told so and so coach this...

It's great to see Gus full of his team though.

Went back and watched the Bama game and after their early third quarter score we shifted into ass kicking mode. Our defensive line beat them badly and we controlled them up front on offense too. Cox was destroying them and KJ was tough as nails. I had forgotten that Stidham completed one of their own signature plays (screen) that was a thing of beauty.
Just awesome!
