So apparently, these two teams and fan bases try to make out like the greatest rivalry going. ESPN gets tailgate quick takes on opposing fans. "What do you think about Ole Miss fans?"

Cowbells...I don't get it.
In the pre game warm ups, the two teams try and square off Miami/FSU/ND style. ESPN shows it 10 times trying to build up the game. What it amounts to is a bunch of players from both sides talking shit and jumping up and down....and jumping up and down...and talking shit and yes....you guessed it...jumping up and down. Then, cooler heads prevail (As if anybody on the field wanted any part of anyone else) and the players part ways...talking shit and jumping up and down.
The game starts. Ole Miss torches them for 7. The two teams exchange punts/turnovers and MSU gets the ball. Nick Fitzgerald goes read option, keeps over the left side and after the play was over, his leg was pointing one way and his foot was headed in the opposite direction. Gruesome injury. But the dude gets an air cast and comes back on the sidelines. Credit where credit due. They must have morphined that kid up because he has to be in incredible pain. This was one of those, "I don't want to see that shit again" injuries.
Freshman QB comes in and it has now settled into one of the worst played and most horrifically officiated games evah. I'll watch. It's football. But it's rare that I watch any game that I don't pick a side. I could not care less. But it's football. Sort of.

Announcers were terrible.
Hate Ole Miss and the most undeservedly arrogant fanbase in the nation. Hate Dan Mullen on a more personal level. The whole thing was just awful. Both teams suck.
It’s doubly bad for me because I have a piece of paper from State. There was a time I good naturedly wanted them to do well when they weren’t playing Auburn. Had friends who worked and coached there. Played golf with Sylvester Croom in a couple of charity tourneys.
That bastard Mullen has infected the entire place with an unearned and whiny sense of where they belong. They are not our equal. They aren’t our brother. They don’t play in the same space we do. Time they stopped pretending otherwise.
Still, I hated to see ole miss win - which I assume they did.
Edit to add:
Just got home and the last few minutes of the game are on. Since I didn't know who won for sure I turned it on. I just heard the moron in the booth (I think it was that asshole McElroy) gushing over the great job Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork has done building the Rebel football program. As the program anticipates what could potentially be the most crippling NCAA sanctions of the last two decades, on his watch, under his supervision.
McElroy is a complete twat of an announcer. What a douche.
