Junior Chris Todd has played most of the past two games. Sophomore Kodi Burns, hampered by an 80-stitch gash on his shin that he suffered in the opener against Louisiana-Monroe.

It was stated that the gash was a 7 incher, but they never said how deep it was.

Misprint and bullshit.  No one is playing a football game one week after getting 80 stitches in any part of their body.

I'm with the counselor on this one.  If it were 80 we would know.

I dunno, 80 stitches sounds pretty close. You would get close to 10 stitches per inch.

Yeah, I had 20 stitches on a 1 1/2" gash under my knee cap...10 on the inside and 10 on the outside, it was pretty fuckin' deep though.
Also IMO, if CTT had mentioned the stitches that it took, then USM and MSU probably wouldn't have spent that much time practicing against a running QB.  If the cut was close to 7" and if it'd been a fairly deep one, then yes 80 would sound about right.

Did you get stitches when you had the Tib-Fib?

I looked trying to see what was the average number of stitches one would receive per inch of gash and could not find anything on it except this.....

Thrilla has such a large gash no amount of stitches will close it.

saw on another site that Kodi himself said it was about 20 stitches, not 80 but still a lot and a whole lot more than the 7 everybody was claiming earlier

I'd heard that Kodi, himself, stitched it up on the sidelines....grass and all, it doesn't matter.  One of the trainers told him, "Kodi, you're bleeding pretty bad!!"  His response was, "I ain't got time to bleed."  The reason why Kodi didn't come in after he was cut in the ULM game was because he was busy putting 140 stitches in.  That's just what my inside source told me.
