My 2nd impression is that Kevin Sumlin might not be coaching A&M tomorrow. Did they seriously lose a 44-10 lead and lose 45-44? Is that possible for anyone? Well, besides my Falcons in the Super Bowl?
44-10 and you lost? I didn't watch any of it. I just read about it. Anyone see the game? How does that happen?

I watched some of the worst pass defense ever by A@M.
I know Sumlin doesn't coach D but yeah this was a bad loss.

Was watching, switched over to WV-VT, then switched back. For most of the game, UCLA looked soft. aTm was running the ball at will. Didn't see the first 21 points of the comeback, but once the worm turned, aTm just folded. It didn't help that they played completely stupid. They repeatedly tried to throw the ball with a backup freshman qb and threw incompletions, when all they needed to do was run out the clock.
Overall, I would equate aTm's performance in the 4th quarter to their last attempt to build a big bonfire, with similar results.
Just Aggies being Aggies....
-
I watched up until like 28-10. Told my roommate score and he said it doesn't surprise him. Told him it wouldn't surprise me if aggies lose it. Watched the other game and gave no more thought to the game. Just woke up for my 3 am wake and bake and saw they lost. WTF!
I'm nostrafuckingdomas I tell you.

Yup, wouldn't doubt it either.

Just to piggyback on the other "Impressions" thread regarding vanilla offense but you are correct for noting a miserable 2nd half offensive showing that kept turning over the ball to UCLA which kept the A@M defense on the field.
Rosen, like almost every one of his predecessors has made a career out of doubling up stats against weaker opponents whereas they normally get thwarted by teams with a modicum of defense.
Yes he's got size and talent but he's still an overrated, soft-shelled California kid waiting to be baptized by fire.

Didn't they get that Dc from lsu a couple of years ago?

"Chief"
Only Sumlin's 2nd half plan made whomever is in charge of the defense now look more like a chef.

Watched the whole thing. TAMU's starter at QB got hurt and then they asked their other frosh to throw it 17 times where he completed maybe one of them. This was after they had rushed for over 300 yards. But the blame goes to Chavis and the d who didn't adjust when UCLA shored up protection and Rosen just carried them. UCLA is not a good team, but neither is TAMU. I don't either coach makes it through the year. Go ahead and flip that toss up to a win for AU. TAMU is in free fall.

I only had it on to see what TAMU had and observe another Mora Jr. meltdown. Didn't learn much although given our past against teams given up for dead I'll reserve comment about our travel date to College Station.

Rosen threw for 300 and 4TDs...in the 4th quarter.
Sumlin is toast.

The fake spike he threw for a score is one we could use maybe later on in the year.

I don't even know how he has made it this far, really. He was a mediocre coach in C-USA. The only success he has seen in the SEC is with Manziel. No way he makes it to 2018.

It is the occasional post like this from you that makes me willing to let you buy my lunch.
Who else is going to talk excessively about Chizzy behind his back?

Me. I will.
Lemme check the temperature tomorrow. I should have some availability this week.

I did something I rarely do for anything other than Auburn games. I sat and watched the UT/GT game from start to finish. It was either that or WWE Raw. Turned out to be one heck of a finish going into 2 OTs.
The Vols won but Tech was in total control for 86.48% of the game with their option attack. Look for the Jackets to lose 7-8 games this year because while their QB looked darn skippy running the offense last night, he's also 5'10" 185 and he ran it, I believe 42 times. He made the entire thing go and he's going to get crushed before mid-season.
Not real impressed with UT. Breaking in a new QB and he didn't wow in any way shape or form. When he did hit the receivers, they usually dropped it. Had a couple of good, long pass plays though. Tennessee finally figured out that they had a back that was better than everyone else on the field and started feeding it to him late. That saved their a$$es. I wouldn't think they'd be a contender for the East but then, the East is pretty crappy overall.

Watched the second half.
If Butch Jones coached my daughter's 12-under volleyball team I'd be embarrassed. I can't imagine how Vols fans feel having that moron in charge of their football program.
I wanted them to lose. They should have lost.

Got a couple of local boys (twins. the white ones) playing for tech. So I watched it. Looks like the QB is pretty goos. maybe even as good as Justin Thomas was. Except Thomas was over 200lbs. This kid looks like he will get broke in two or four pieces. But he had some moves last night. Ans he tosses the ball well also. I think they can throw it on a lot of teams and keep him healthy. Also, if he learns to pitch it a bit more, that should help.
Overall , it was an enjoyable game. I agree with Johnson going for two at the end. his QB looked like one more hit and he would be out....COLD!
-
Co Jones is all about clichés, cute sayings and dumbass rituals. They carry a trash can around the sidelines all game. Something about, "Clean everything up" or "Pick up the litter" or "Don't throw your paper cups on the ground" or something like that. Just stupid, corny junior high crap.

Yes.
They had no business winning that game. And jones is a total db.
And I know he isn't popular on here and used to didn't be with me either but the more coaches I see like jones and fat bert, the more I like mark richt.

Qb played up the road at Harris county. Watched him a couple of times in hs and although he was good, I had no idea he would translate this well at a power 5 school. Snags is right - he won't make it through 5 more games if they use that same game plan.

This is just a glimpse of the UT co-op program, what's the big fuss? It's the only one they have. He's getting ready.

Week 2 out
https://www.seccountry.com/sec/college-football-rankings-2017-projecting-the-ap-poll-top-25-after-week-1
25. Notre Dame (Entering week: Unranked)
24. TCU (Entering week: Unranked)
23. Washington State (projected win; in action vs. Montana State | Entering week: No. 24)
Story continues below
22. South Florida (Entering week: No. 19)
Following an up-and-down performance at San Jose State on opening weekend, the Bulls nearly fell to FCS Stony Brook at home this Saturday afternoon. Charlie Strong’s team won’t spend much more time in the Top 25 if it insists on scaring its fans every week.
21. Florida (Entering week: No. 17)
20. Tennessee (projected win; plays Monday night vs. Georgia Tech)
19. Kansas State (Entering week: No. 20)
18. West Virginia (Projected win; plays No. 21 Virginia Tech on Sunday | Entering week: No. 22)
17. Miami (Entering week: No. 18)
16. Louisville (Entering week: No. 16)
Defending Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson stuffed the stat sheet in a close win vs. Purdue. He finished with nearly 500 combined passing and rushing yards and appears well on his way to matching his video-game numbers of last season.
15. Georgia (Entering week: No. 15)
14. Stanford (Entering week: No. 14)
13. LSU (projected win; in action vs. BYU | Entering week: No. 13)
12. Auburn (Entering week: No. 12)
Much-hyped QB Jarrett Stidham looked a little rusty in a 41-7 win over Georgia Southern. Granted, Stidham had not played in nearly 2 years, but he didn’t get much help from his wideouts en route to earning mixed reviews. The Tigers travel to Clemson next weekend.
11. Oklahoma State (Entering week: No. 10)
10. Wisconsin (Entering week: No. 9)
9. Washington (Entering week: No. 8)
8. Michigan (Entering week: No. 11)
Big winners vs. No. 17 Florida in Arlington, the Wolverines held the Gators to 3 offensive points. Jim Harbaugh still needs to maneuver through a deadly Big Ten East, but Saturday was a great start to his third season in Ann Arbor.
7. Oklahoma (Entering week: No. 7)
6. USC (Entering week: No. 4)
The Trojans received a major scare from a P.J. Fleck-less Western Michigan at the Coliseum. A pair of late touchdowns rescued the team’s national championship aspirations and kept QB Sam Darnold in the thick of the Heisman race.
5. Florida State (Entering week: No. 3)
4. Penn State (Entering week: No. 6)
3. Clemson (Entering week: No. 5)
2. Ohio State (Entering week: No. 2)
1. Alabama (Entering week: No. 1)

FSU didn't fall far enough.
Tennessee too high

Florida.

So Florida State looks pathetic against Bama and loses their QB for the season. But they only drop 2 spots. Okay, got it. Florida got manhandled by a team that graduated just about everybody. They also have major QB issues and could only muster a field goal offensively. But they only drop a few spots. Okay, got it.
Oh and BTW, Auburn wins 41-7 and holds their opponent to negative eleventeen yards. But we dropped one spot in the AP and Corch's poll. Okay, got it.

I would be happy to drop to 15th with a win Saturday.

Florida should have lost 48-3. 2 stupid pick 6s gifted to them by meatchicken prevented that.

So.
Sumlin's wife faked racist hate mail. Clear and obvious to me that it's a fraud.
Will there be consequences or will the SJWs trigger so hard that Sumlin can never be fired.

Yeah, I certainly don't condone the racial name calling in the letter. But, is it really a surprise to her? Certainly isn't that to me. A coach blows a lead like that and he'll be called many racial and ethnic slurs, depending on his or her ethnicity. It comes with the territory, even in 2017.

I was pitching one time in high school. Blew a 3 run lead in the 9th to our biggest rival. It was unbelievable the vitriol being spewed from the stands as I walked off the field.
"You stupid white person."
"Darn you, cracker."
"I hope your college fund tanks, white boy."
"I hope somebody slashes the tires on your Volvo."
I kept thinking we should be past all that, but sadly....

If anyone knows about how it is to be a minority, it would be you. I'm sure growing up in Montgomery was not easy on a white boy.
Especially, one who sucked in athletics.

I'm gonna side with the average Aggie on this one.
1) The letter appears to be written by a woman.
b) The stamp is not post-marked, leading me to believe that it was not mailed (his wife dumb)
!) The wording is deliberately phrased so as to inflame racist tensions
>) The manner in which she revealed it on social media seems suspect
I think she faked it. I think his wife wrote it herself and jammed it in her own mailbox to spark a racist outcry and make it nigh impossible to fire her husband.

You very well may be right. But, I think the SEC myth that you shouldn't hire a black coach because you can't fire a black coach is about to be disproven.

Malzahn's wife is at Waffle House hammering out a racist email to her husband. It works that way right?
