Always thought he was a good player and had a level head. Don't remember him being much of an interview, but maybe he'll add something to the broadcasts.
I'll remember once sitting in the stands listening to our own intoxicated people abuse him verbally when he was a junior. His parents were sitting right by me and I'll never forget their quiet dignity and reserve as the idiots around them showed their asses.

Speaking of idiot fans and Campbell, there were two old guys sitting right in front of me during the Iron Bowl at JHS where we got punked something like 31-7. I think Campbell was a freshman at the time. The game is way out of hand and it's late in the 4th and AU continues to trot Daniel Cobb out there at QB. Completely ineffective. I said "Why don't they give Campbell a shot?" One of the geezers heard me and says:
"You can't put that boy in there. You have to be able to think and make quick decisions at quarterback. You have to have it up here (Pointing to his pointed head) and Campbell doesn't have it."
I had two responses ready:
1. How the hell would you know he can't do it unless he gets in there and plays? Or:
2. So, what you're saying is you don't want the n****r in there.
I just ignored him.

Most likely, he actually did have connections within the program and wasn't just a wannabe.

That was rampant in the stands until 2004. It was fucking gross and made me want to throw houndstooth garments at them.

If Borges had been with Campbell 2 or 3 years, very good chance he wins the Highs Man. Should have gotten more consideration in 04'.
