Title: Is 2017 SEC or bust for Gus?
Post by: AUownsU on December 21, 2016, 04:18:45 PM
What's the X say? I'd say yes mainly because if he wins the SECw it means he beat the cheating goat fuckers. No way he survives if he drops a fourth Iron Bowl.

Honestly, I think he has to get to 10 wins personally.  That 10 would have to include either Georgia or Alabama as well.  The big money will not put up with consistently losing to our 2 biggest rivals.

That's exactly what I was telling Milton and Bobby at our last meeting.

The Iron Bowl, I get.  I'd hate it but the question is, who is actually beating them right now?  118-18 under Saybinz.  That's just sick.  What would do it for me is losing to both Alabama AND Georgia again.  Especially with both coming to JHS next year.  Then, it would be time to go get me some Pete Carroll.

Obviously, that's not going to happen but how classic would an Iron Bowl match up be if it did?

Ward, you were a little hard on the Beaver last night.

9-3/10-2 is very doable, with one of the wins coming against Georgia.

Any member school of the SEC West that makes a divisional championship the litmus test for retaining their football coach is going to be coach-shopping every 3-5 years.

Meh.  More like every 4 years.

I rarely agree with you these days, Mrs. Clinton, but on this we stand united.

Winning the SEC-W cannot be the only acceptable outcome, not with the rampant cheating that is being allowed to occur across the state.

Lose to another shitty Georgia team, though?  Run that whirly bird shit and cost us two or three games?  Look like a total idiot with no backup plan when things go slightly awry?  Make zero adjustments when the original plan isn't working at all?   Those things are unacceptable.

He's GOT to start looking like a competent coach with a firm grasp on his job and less like a bumbling monkey who isn't sure what to do, hesitates when he should act boldly and barges ahead when he should hold back.  If he continues to appear lost and floundering, the record is secondary.  He can't continue to be learning on the job and screwing it up.

I agree almost wholeheartedly.  The totality of the situation must be considered.

Agree upon your two agreeances.

I just wish somebody would go down on the field and fire Gus in person the next time the twirlybird play is used.  I would love to volunteer for that position.

I don't want to necessarily fire him, I just want to do this.

Yeah. But it's two years old. It was a different world back then!

Big game Bob would have definitely kicked him off the team had it happened this season, but it didn't, so his hands are tied.
