Title: Great Smokey Mountains

I don't know if any of you care about Gatlinburg or ever visit there, but it has apparently been consumed by an incredible fire in the last 48 hours.  There are some horror stories from people trying to evacuate and last I seen over 100 structures have burned. 

Hope none of y'all had any property up there or loved ones.

Been keeping up with the story.  Horrible situation.  Have vacationed there for many, many years and I doubt the place will ever look the same after all the fires.

Special place for me. Went back for the first time in years recently and it's still beautiful but more commercial every year.

Hate to hear of this destruction. Sad news.

The wife wanted to go for Christmas. I balked.

The last time I went there I thought it might be a good thing if they razed it and started over.  It had gotten old and seedy in a lot of places. 

Guess I was heard.  Not what I meant, though.

My brother owns a couple of cabins up there.  Hate that the folks have lost homes and the like but hey if it knocks out some of those t-shirt shops I'm not complaining.
