Title: Dawg Meat!
Post by: CCTAU on November 12, 2016, 06:46:37 AM
With Trump grabbing all the pu...headlines this week, there hasn't been much talk of the game.

I am on the other side of the world. Any relevant news on the game?

It would have been nice for a noon game. Now it doesn't start here until 10:30 tonight! Gonna be a long night. And I need my sleep to fight of the lions tomorrow!

Keeping with the theme of this week, White is good to go. Pettway is questionable but knowing Gus,, that means he's out. Tim Williams is back though.

If our defense shows up, I think we win a low scoring game. Maybe a 20-10 kind of score. If not, then they'll ruin our season. Wouldn't be the first time for Georgia.

I'm not really concerned about any of Bama's D-linemen and don't know what they have to do with this discussion.

It all hinges on White's shoulder.  If he can throw, KJ and the other guys can run behind Cox.

would love to see pettway be healthy enough to get the tough yards and KJ break one off.

Hopefully SW will not need to throw that much.

I'll be up til about 2AM watching this one.

Uga is amped up. Both sides of ball. They don't have a lot of talent or depth in their lineup right now. I don't know how long they can stay this amped up. Seems vandy came out the same way.

Uga oline is a hodge podge of buffoons. If they push our talented front 7 around then that would be very very bad.

Kudos to the playcalling on two drives.
Georgia hanging tough but starting to look tired up front.
Maybe we bust this open in the second half or at least keep it out of reach.

Half. 7-0.  Our DB's have let the receivers behind them on every single long pass.  That's the one and only thing that worries me about this entire game. Fix that and we good.

Montravelosity Adams is making himself some $$$ today.  There's more than a few scouts taking notes right now and several of those comments include the word, "Beast".

Seriously we obviously can't get anyone open. Maybe we can beat 'em grounding it out ugly and get behind them a few times.

I can take losses. I can't stand watching us bumblefudge around against a team that shouldn't be on the same field as us. We gave up 9 points - 3 fudgeing field goals to fudgeing Buddy Holly, Jr. and we served them that Pick 6 on plate.

Olde said it right. 20 yards and ZERO first downs in the second half.

No excuse for this shoot. Hurt RB or not. This was a bullshoot, pansy, safe, bend over and stick it in my ass gameplan by the coaches. We are the team that can beat the other middling teams in the league. We can't do shoot against the elite. Not shoot. Not a chance.

Saban and Bama are gonna stomp a mudhole in us and walk that summitch dry.

Flush this turd season.  :shit:

Our offense today was like that performance artist who walks out on stage, disrobes, takes a shoot on the stage, and proceeds to smear it all over himself and the stage. It was called "shoot Show" and yet, somehow, we expected something different. "Maybe it's an ironic title."

Nope.

We were corcheed today by dumbfudgeery and stubborn dipshoottedry.
Title: Re: Dawg Meat!
Post by: Snaggletiger on November 12, 2016, 07:52:24 PM
I think the biggest disappointment is no plan B.  Look, the leading rusher in the SEC is out.  Our QB hasn't thrown a pass in practice for 2 weeks because he is clearly about 40%.  But the reality is we have no one behind White.  An injured White going 6-20 for 27 yards is apparently better than anything else we can put out there.

Kudos to Kerryon for getting 100 yards (99).  And holy shit....do we have a defense or what?  6 points given up on the road.  If our offense had done anything tonight.  Anything, our D pitches a shutout.  And they rotate guys in left and right.  So happy with the D.  Adams was off the charts.

Bottom line.  The key from here is getting people well.  Getting prepped to play Bama.  If we're 100% healthy, we can beat that bunch.  I want to beat Bama and get a bid to the Sugar Bowl and kick Oklahoma's ass.

Just sayin'.

You are a positive mother fucker...

Been watching AU football too long to get all mental up in here.  If no one has figured it out by now, Malzahn's offense is centered around one thing and one thing only.  You have to run, run, run first and foremost.  I don't care if Sean White, Chris Todd, Nick Marshall or Cam Newton is taking snaps.  If you can't control the running game first and foremost, his O is dead in the water.  Period!

That's not a knock on Malzahn.  It's just his offense.  He's not very innovative otherwise and his passing game, without the running game getting off, is high school at best.  So tonight, what do you have?  The SEC rushing leader on the sidelines and a QB with a bum shoulder.  Pettway full strength and White 100%...that's a 30-3 game.  Otherwise, we have no offense.

Time to get healthy and prep for Bama.

It all hinges on White's shoulder.  If he can throw, KJ and the other guys can run behind Cox.

Tigers 31
Mutts 13

His shoulder is furked worse than anyone is letting on and KJ can't run behind Cox.  No one can.

I finally figured out how to describe the playcalling this year: Lashzahn (or whoever is calling the plays) is like an 8 year old kid playing NCAA football on the PS3/4/GateBox/etc...

He's wowed by the exotic plays (double reverses, flea flickers, bleh), but sometime early in the LaMo game he accidentally called a basic counter with Pettway in the game and it worked.  So he kept running that play over and over until he broke Pettway.  Now, he's back to calling the whirly-bird with our FB in the Wildcat.

Without Pettway and a fully healthy White, our offense is going to get stinkholed in Tuscaloosa.  Instead of enjoying the chaos yesterday and sitting in the Top 5 today, we're fighting to get to 9 wins.

And so it has been spoken.  And so it shall be.

As I said from the start, the only real upsetting thing to me about yesterday is no plan B.  Either Pettway is pounding and White is getting the ball to receivers, or we get yesterday.  And if we get yesterday in Tuscaloosa, we get....how did you put it?   Oh yeah...stinkholed.  Don't know about you but my stinkhole says exit only.

I'm not going to debate anybody on our offense from yesterday.  The numbers speak for themselves, no matter what the excuses maybe.  But despite the play calling, two things in White's defense are that we never once picked up a blitz.  He had zero chance when they brought extra pressure.  More importantly, it wasn't 2015 Arkansas bad, but in the times he did deliver the ball, our receivers did nothing to help him out. Right off hand, I can recall 2, maybe 3 that Marcus Davis should have caught.  Kam Martin on that wheel route in the 4th?  Come on, man!!! And even the last pass on 4th down over the middle to Tony Stevens.  You have to come down with that.  You HAVE to make plays!  It was a one score game and if anyone steps up, we're probably thanking the football gods for a one point win and waiting on the polls Tuesday.

And if we get a one point win, guess what?  The whole attitude on here is all about getting people healthy for Bama. But, we stinkholed ourselves instead.

So, do you start... ...Jeremy Johnson against Alabama a&m? If he does well, do you start him against Alabama? He can throw the deep ball, something that has hurt Alabama this season. Will the OLine give enough time to throw it deep? When or if the pass protection continues to break down, will the OC call plays that roll the pocket or maybe some RB screens?
