Sadly, that's what I was wondering.  I hope like heck it's just a case of Clemson overlooking Troy.

Or maybe our defense beat the hell out of their offense and they are just trying to get well this week. :haha:

I've chosen to go with this one.

No, our D is salty and fast.  Look, shit changes drastically from week to week.  Georgia beats UNC and Chubb runs for 8,000 yards.  He can't break 80 in a 2 point win over Nicholls. Bama slaps 52 on USC but WKU keeps them under 40.  Go Gaytah looks like road kill against UMass but hangs 45 on an SEC team the very next week.

It looks wide open this year.  Just need someone to make Bama look human.

These are not the droids your looking for.

It's the second week.
Tennessee was without Reeves-Maybin at MLB due to a head to head susp. v. Appy St. He's the heart and soul of that D.
He is back and that gives them a shot at winning the east.

Clemson brought out Mike Williams in the second half of our opener. We couldn't stop him.

Game changers?
Yes, both of them and the opposition has to account for both of these guys.

As Snaggle says, it is wide open.

Opening myself up for ridicule but..
Subject: the fake field goal run for a TD by Legatron.
To me that wasn't just Gus being Gus. That was a message. Not sure if it was him saying no more mister nice guy, I'm going to the dagger v. Arky St. or fuck all the naysayers, I will run this thing any way I please.

It could be that Freeze beats him three straight years. That will surely get him a statue in the Grove. A little probation won't stand in the way of the Ole Miss faithful in honoring a guy who might do what no other head coach has done before.

Not only the fg but lots of calls tell me Gus is back coaching and calling plays like it's for his job.

He's a good coach and will be regardless if he's coaching for us. I'm just glad to see more fire in the belly.

Agree. To me his style gives us our best chance to beat the Turds and/or win the SEC West. And that generally puts us in contention for a title. He's just southern-fried eccentric which suits Orbrun (as he calls it) just fine. Also don't care if his wife starts motoring around town in a Bentley we just need W's, lots of 'em.

I couldn't care less what he or his wife drive, at the end of the day it comes down to did he win or lose.  The crap from last week and last year looked like the make a wish foundation had granted him his wish.  Saturday's game looked like the Gus of old.  I want the guy to do well.  Let's face it, it doesn't matter who our coach is I want them to do well.  But IMO if he finishes this season poorly and we have several repeats of that trash from week 1 then he needs to find a new job where he can get that fire back.  Hopefully it doesn't come to that.  Like someone else said in another thread, hopefully he has that fire to win again and we can start being the elite program that matches the talent we have.
