Title: Red Wolves
Post by: Snaggletiger on September 06, 2016, 12:40:16 PM
Despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, there is a game this weekend and an opportunity to get untracked.  (+$1.00 to Wes)

Arky State looked to be anything but a cupcake heading into the season; however, this past weekend may have put them back in the bakery section.  Made that up myself.  ASU got slapped around by the Rockets of Toledo 31-10.  Granted, Toledo normally has a pretty stout program for a Mid-Major but they went to the Red Wolves home field and administered a beat down.

ASU graduated its QB and top RB from last year and it showed.  Through the air, they were 11-25 and 124 yards.  They only averaged 3.7 yards a carry in totaling 142 rushing yards.  Toledo, on the other hand, threw for over 370 yards had the game in hand from the start.

If our D held ASU or anybody for that matter, to 10 points and 266 yards, we should win by 3+ scores.  I can see our D taking total control here.  The only question is the obvious one.  Does Malzahn scrap that Benny Hill sketch of an offense and go back to what he does best/worst?

You know he won't. He is going to cram that shit stain of a game plan down our throat.

Maybe instead of HUNH, we should call it,   Guscare.

If he does stick with one guy at the helm, for the most part, we should....should win comfortably.  I say that only because of our defense.  Last year, teams like J-State and San Louis Obispo Diego Tech lined up and pushed our D-line around, sustaining drives.  I think our D holds them down while the offense gets its collective shit together.

Feel like we have been saying or hoping for this for two years now.
