Title: Fear the black widow
Post by: Kaos on September 09, 2008, 02:24:29 PM: Outside the office today, I came across a small snake trapped in a spider's web. At the top of the web was a black widow, about the size of a quarter. This spider had killed the freaking snake and had been eating on it.

It was one of the spookiest things I've ever seen. Sign of the apocalypse?

No kidding - black widows are usually tiny little things - I think I read once that they are the most venomous creature proportional to their size. They will mess you up. Maybe it was a radioactive Spiderman spider...

That would have totally freaked me out too - a snake trapped in a spider web? I guess she jumped on it before it could wiggle away... damn, you have to be fast to kill a snake.

The snake's head is held up and pulled back by the web (and it's in full rigor). The spider was sprayed and killed. I circled it in the photo.
