Ole Miss is fucked...

Laremy Tunsil says he took money from coach at Ole Miss
By Mark Schlabach
ESPN

Laremy Tunsil, the controversial offensive tackle taken by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 13 draft pick Thursday night, said he took money from a coach while he was a player at Ole Miss.

Tunsil spoke at a news conference after his draft selection in Chicago and an apparent hack of his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

"I'd have to say yeah," Tunsil said when asked by a reporter if he took money from a coach.

A screen grab of a text that was published to @kingtunsil appeared to show a request for money from Ole Miss assistant athletic director John Miller for rent and so Tunsil's mother could pay her electric bill.

"Those were true," Tunsil said. "I made a mistake of that happening."

Two questions later, as he was being asked a follow-up question about whether he had spoken to NCAA investigators, Tunsil was ushered out of the news conference by an official.

"He hasn't seen anything," the official said as they walked off the stage. "This all happened while he was up here."

In the alleged text messages, Tunsil asks Miller for $305 to pay his mother's "light bill."

Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork didn't immediately respond to text messages from ESPN. Rebels coach Hugh Freeze and Jimmy Sexton, Tunsil's agent, both of whom attended the draft Thursday in Chicago, couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

Ole Miss received an NCAA notice of allegations from the NCAA in January. The school hasn't released many details about the investigation.

Tunsil, who was considered the potential No. 1 pick in the draft until recently, was suspended by the NCAA for the first seven games this past season for accepting improper benefits.

The NCAA determined that Tunsil improperly used three separate loaner cars without paying during a six-month period, received two nights of lodging at a local home, accepted an airline ticket purchased by a friend of a teammate and used a rental car for one day without paying. The NCAA also alleged that Tunsil received an interest-free, four-month loan to make a $3,000 down payment for a used car.

NCAA investigators said Tunsil, from Lake City, Florida, wasn't initially forthcoming during the investigation about his use of the vehicles.

The NCAA launched an investigation into improper benefits after Tunsil and his stepfather, Lindsey Miller, filed domestic charges against each other last year. Tunsil said he attacked Miller after his stepfather assaulted his mother, Desiree Polingo. Miller said Tunsil's attack was unprovoked, and he was trying to stop his stepson's contact with agents. The criminal charges against both men were dropped in August.

On Tuesday, Miller filed a civil lawsuit against Tunsil in Lafayette County Court in Oxford, Mississippi, alleging that Tunsil defamed his character and caused "intentional infliction of emotional distress."

I've got a feeling nothing is going to happen.

Maybe "loss of three scholarships and John Miller is fired" to save face.

But Ole Miss will be fine and will continue cheating like they have been.

So, is this the 21st century version of Ramsey vs. Jelks with Hotty Toddy playing the role of Auburn?

In the mean time, Cumdumpchee goes in the first round (against all prognostications) and don't say jack about getting money. And hos family got double!

They better hope Tunsil can block, cause it is apparent he's dumb as hell!

He found out his instagram account was hacked right before sitting down for the interview.  It showed text messages between Jon Miller and Tunsil.

At the :45 mark someone tries to ask him if the text messages are legit.  He just says he made a mistake.

At 1:59 a reporter asks him if their was an exchange of money between him and his coach at Ole Miss, and he say's no he wouldn't say that.

At 2:36 the same reporter asks him a leading question that says so you are saying that not only did someone hack your account but they doctored the text messages to make it look like you took money.  To which he initially responds exactly. Then realizes ( I think) that the guy is talking about the instagram and says oh yeah those messages are true.

2:45 reporter says so was their an exchange between you and your coach for money...to which Tunsil replies yes.

Watch to end to see how quick Sexton's lacky comes out when a reporter asks him if he has talked to the NC2A.

We have entered the "Players should be paid anyway" era of sports punditry. Nothing will happen.

Curious timing that the hacks show their face just hours after bammer's DL coach is outed for paying players.

They are like fighter jets strewing chaff.  Any time they are in any danger at all, they unload it to deflect.

Does anybody else find the timing of the Tuscaloosa News dumping this story right as the draft started and right before "somebody" unloaded the Tunsil stories shady?

The only issue we should be concerned with is what story is about to break on Auburn?

How come the only people who ever get their twitter accounts "hacked" are college football players?

This time it actually did happen.  I doubt very likely that even the biggest dumbass would post himself using drugs 13 mins before he about to be $$$$$paid$$$$$

Rumor is it was his Step Dad who was looking to get paid himself with a little blackmail.

That's not "hacked" really, that's somebody knowing your login.

Also?  Does not make it less true.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if this isn't the work Alabama using the obvious suspect of the step-dad to cover the dirty deeds.

True, but the term "hacked" is used in an obligatory sense. He didn't post it, and I'm sure he didn't want it posted so it was posted without his approval on his personal account - cyber term = hacked.

No kid is still a dumbass, at least he admitted to it, and didn't say no it wasn't me.  Not that this is an excuse but he is also 23 years old, they do stupid shit.

It is worth noting that Ole Miss' Assistant A.D. of Football Operations is named John Miller and its Assistant AD for High School and Junior College Relations is named Barney Farrar.

1. Can someone point out what I'm missing....but hasn't this already happened and he got suspended for it? Is this anything "new"?

2. The ole miss coaches are getting pissy over small amount changes on a light bill? That would have been petty cash to coach Dye's and Lowder's bunch.

"I thought we all agreed on an amount..."

This wasn't just a player asking for money from an assistant AD, this was a deal already set. $5 says that Treadwell & Nkemdiche had a similar deal.

It was 300 bucks. They were bitching that 300 bucks was too high.   how can anyone make a preset amount deal on something so variable as a light bill? Ole miss doesn't even know how to cheat right. Coach Dye needs to give em some lessons.

They can't hide money eh?

The state of Mississippi is proving not only do they suck at football. But they suck at cheating at football. Lightweights.

Wots - is that bill Jordan (cols, ga - Realtree) is beyond a lot of it at OM.
