Highway Patrol clocks Cameron Artis-Payne at 102 mph on interstate
Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne was arrested on Saturday night and charged with reckless driving after North Carolina State Troopers clocked him driving at 102 mph on Interstate 85, WSOC-TV in Charlotte reported on Sunday night.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the former Auburn standout was arrested in a 65-mph zone near the interstate's Exit 14 in Gaston County.
WSOC-TV reported Artis-Payne was released from custody after posting a $5,000 unsecured bail.

He seems to be doing things that will eliminate him from consideration as the heir to the RB position at Carolina. I know this is not a huge deal, but when you are in direct competition with a guy named Fozzy, you need to keep your head down and work a bit harder.

I run around 100 between mobile and Montgomery on a regular basis. More so in the BMW than the truck but still. I've made it from exit 37 (bay minette) to the I85 exit in Montgomery in under two hours numerous times.
That's s $5000 bond? Srsly?

Maybe our in-house popo can back me up but I can go ahead and say that he was either:
1. A dick to the cops or
2. The cops were dicks
Very rarely do you see arrests especially for speeding. I was caught last year in Jawjaw doing 98 in a 70 and the cop wrote me a citation for 79 mph. I was actually appreciative because there were no points on my license and it was about $100 less of a ticket.
Unless he was wildly speeding in and out of traffic or didn't pull over right away I am surprised they arrested him.

It's 157 miles if I'm not mistaken. But whatever. I set the cruise about Atmore to between 95 and 100 and let it go.

The Bay Minette/Gulf Shores Parkway exit (exit 39) is 135 miles from the I-85 interchange in the Gump (exit 172). I know this to be a fact - I just drove it last weekend.
