Title: Golf game elevated
Post by: Kaos on March 22, 2016, 09:18:40 AM
Been waiting almost a year for the new Underarmour golf shoes to come out.  On the email waiting list for the pre-order early special.   With these shoes my game will elevate to new heights.  I will win every match and lower my handicap dramatically.

They are officially on sale April 4, but yesterday I get the glorious news that I can order early and have them delivered by March 23.  Huzzah!!  I can have this beautiful shoe, in white with blue trim...

..... for $199.

Wait.  $199 for a golf shoe?  Seriously?  I've paid $75 for your polos, Underarmour. I've paid $79 for your (admittedly fantastic looking and feeling) golf pants.  $200 for a golf shoe seems excessive.  Then again, I typically buy golf shoes from the "on sale" rack at the pro shop.  I have a pair of Nikes, a pair of Sketchers, a pair of Puma and a pair of orange and blue AU Footjoys that was a gift.  None of those shoes helped me play better.  Why do I need another pair?

So after waiting a year, I declined Underarmour's generous offer to pre-fill their pockets with my cash.  And I am sad.

Knowing the way that Cam slid across Phoenix turf in UnderArmour, pretty sure as you'd bust your ass putting.

Its not about playing good, its about looking good.

I have two pair of Foot joys. One with water proof bottom $150.00 and 8 spikes, one regular set with six spikes. $75.00.  Yes they are both keen. The replacement spikes I buy come in packages of 10.

Was doing some wishful shopping this Sat before I played, golf can be an expensive hobby. They also had the new Callaway driver  $599.00

Got my irons and drivers for $70 at a pawn shop circa 1998. #1 cost $49 on ebay in 2002. Shoes? I play barefoot most the time. Lol, not really. I have Nike's and love them.

Ben Hogan Apex II irons, wedges, putter and wood heads. When I drive the same distance or farther than those who use metal heads (i.e. Callaway Warbird), they get this bewildered look on their faces. I started at age 9 under Pro-golfer Ricky Sharp in Mobile, Alabama, at Rivera Du Chien country club, which later became Linksman. Since I'm much older now I don't make the links often. However, when I do, I have to swing 3/4. Nomo full swing because 53+ years old folks (torn rotator cuffs and bad knees). Hell, it hurts to walk. I still hit at least 80% of greens in regulation and love the game. It's almost time for graphite shafts. Lol

I have decided to file for public assistance.  Bernie knows I should have those Under Armour shoes.  Underarmour doesn'tt pay enough taxes, those greedy bastards. They should just give me a pair.  C'mon Bernie!  Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!  Make the rich pay!!

I have the dayglo shirt, but I went with the electric blue version.
(http://www.golfshack.co.uk/shopimages/products/extras/1242742b-300px.jpg)  I also have electric blue pants, purple pants and white pants.

Bernie should get me reparations for that.

I also think Bernie should get those rich golf courses to subsidize my game.  One of the guys I regularly play with had to pay for some surgery for his wife and for an accident his son was in. Now he can't pay as often because money is tight.  I want Bernie to pay for him to play golf.  Because he deserves it.  Oh, wait, he has a good job and pays taxes.  So maybe we should take more of his money to pay for people who don't work or pay taxes to buy clubs and play.

That all sounds really expensive, plus the hotel room.

Well yeah, when you add in the extra charge to fly all that golf gear it makes it damn near impossible to make the trip.

14k....stock. Sad part? This isn't some concept Ferrari type bike. It's pretty mainstream. And I know a few guys that have it. #struggleisreal

Pricing the common man out. Can't even afford to fly my new gold plated clubs in first class anymore.

For 14K should it not pedal itself and give you a hand job?

"Where are the pedals."

$14,000 bikes are not meant to be ridden. You hang this thing in the rack on the garage wall and brag about it to your poor friends during cookouts.

Exactly!

"See, Fred, this is hand woven Sri Lankan silk thread. It is one of a kind. It took 500 silkworms 15 years to shit the material needed to make this tie. It took 3 young women 4 months using a 400 year old traditional loom to weave it into the masterpiece you see before you, using knowledge passed down through 20 generations. What you've got hanging sloppily around your neck there is nothing more than machine stitched Hoboken manufactured polyester. It took L'Neisha a minute and a half to cut and stitch the material and throw it in the box with the other 10 thousand just like it and ship it out to Wal-Mart."
