Title: MVP...MVP...MVP
Post by: Snaggletiger on February 12, 2016, 10:03:26 AM
Read a piece showing Auburn on the short list of colleges that have produced MVP's in the NFL, MLB and the NBA.  Pretty danged impressive.

Auburn

Charles Barkely
Frank Thomas
Josh Donaldson
Cam Newton

UCLA

Bill Walton
Kareem Abdul Jabaar
Jackie Robinson
Bob Waterford

Michigan State

Kirk Gibson
Steve Garvey
Magic Johnson
Earl Morrall

Texas

Kevin Durant
Roger Clemens
Earl Campbell

That's some pretty exclusive company.  As much as I love baseball, I hate that Donaldson plays for the Blue Jays because we just don't get to see enough of him.

As I mentioned before, we're the only school to have two in the same year, and we did it twice. 1993 & 2015.

WOOOOOOOO.....

Pffffttttt.  Nobody cares about this!

al.com would rather tell us about a game that happened three months ago or about how Saban is really misunderstood or what receivers Bama will be choosing from on the next recruiting day or whine that Jake Coker wasn't invited to the Combine.

Speaking of Coker, mini-snags stole a line from here, probably from you, and got props from a Bammer.  Last week, Snagette and I had a conference with one of his teachers, who is a card-carrying member of the unwashed.  He was talking about our son and said he was generally quiet and well-behaved. Pays attention.  Good to hear.  Then he said, "But he has a sense of humor that comes out when you least expect it. The other day, we were talking about football and someone mentioned Jake Coker.  Brock turned to him and said, 'Oh, you mean Captain Proactiv'?"  Even his Bammer teacher cracked up.

I naturally responded with a "That's my boy".  When I got home, I had a long talk with him about the perils of copyright infringement.

Or how that sneering piece of garbage who looks like the ugly bastard child of a back alley tryst between Howdy Doody and Ralph Malph is establishing himself as the premier commentator on the SEC network.

They covered the shit out of that.

Mich State came real close with Magic (87, 89) and Gibson (88) but not quite.
