Title: Post Game Thoughts/Rants/WooHoo's
Post by: Snaggletiger on September 06, 2008, 08:13:54 PM
Just got back.  Much mo' bettah' game.  No freakin' books or novels.  Quick shots:

1. Offense:  Better if for no other reason than 1 QB got some rythym.  Todd doesn't make bad decisions but sometimes just doesn't make a decision at all, which sux.  He grew up a little today.  Take away the first two fumbles, this is a blow out by half.

2. Defense is bad to the F'n bone.  Forget the little momentum they got late in the game.  At 24-0 we went into the obligatory Tuberville turtle shell.  Someone needs to bitch slap his conservative ass.  USM barely had 20 yards going into the 2nd quarter.  As for that momentum, most folks may not realize the two guys doing all the pass catching late were 6'6" 230 and 6'5" 235.  Great athletes and we were mismatched as hell.  Did good to keep em' down that long.

3. Our D-line is as good as I've seen in a LONG time.  Big, fast, physical.  Hell yes.

4. Individual players note: Tate is #1.  No if's ands or butts.  Josh Bynes may be better than Blackmon.  In my personal opinion, he is.  I'd find a way to move one of them to the outside.  Preferably, Blackmon.  Spencer Pybus is going to do great things at Auburn.  Pugh played center and they moved Bosley to tackle.  Worked well.  CTT said post game that it may be their best lineup.

WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!!

From my armchair vantage point, I thought they looked really good today. I agree that this defense is stout. It has the potential to be one of the finest defenses on the Plains since Wayne Hall was DC. Top to bottom, first to third string, there is no let up.

The offense is getting there. Hopefully, now that Todd was officially named the starting QB, they will continue to build upon the rhythm they developed today.

On a side note, we really could have used that rainstorm last weekend. It was hotter than 2 rats fucking in a wool sock out there.

I'll second that......two rats Fuckin' in a wool sock is pretty hot....lol.

Y'all want to know who Ben Tate was talkin' about when he said, "We all know who the starting QB should be, but I'm not going to get into all that".......I'll give y'all one clue, his name ryhmes with Chris Todd.  I didn't even realize that Pugh was at Center and Bosley at RT until the third drive...I like that lineup.  Y'all realize that Auburn has moved linemen around more in these past two games than they have in the past two years, that is Fuckin' Awesome.  It builds Serious Depth across the board.  Ask JPW if having depth on the line is good or not, LOL.  He was sacked, by TULANE, four or five times.

How about Dunn running back that kick for the TD AGAIN! Damn that bullshit blocking in the back.

Auburn hasn't run back a kickoff in over 15 years, and then Dunn does it back to back in the first two games of this year!

Methinks we'll see him do it again before the year's over.

I'm gonna say this about Southern Miss, too.

The running back Fletcher is a junior.  The receiver Brown (#5) is a true freshman and a kid that LSU pretended not to want and claimed would never qualify after he chose to go to Southern Miss. The quarterback is a freshman.   I'd welcome any of them to swith allegiances.

If they can keep the defense building, that's going to be a very good team over the next couple of years.
