Denver played stifling defense and stayed in Brady's grill all day. Peyton gets maybe one last shot to get another SB ring.
Cam and the Panthers just dominated Arizona from the opening bell. 49-15. In an on-field interview after the game, Cam said he didn't know who they were facing. He was told Peyton Manning and the Broncos. He said, "Oh my God, we're facing the Sheriff."
Tons of story lines for this one. Manning is easily my favorite NFL QB of all time. Cam is the Auburn Superman. I'll be pulling hard for Cam. But...if Denver pulls it out, I won't be too pissed. I'll hope Peyton takes a SB ring and rides off into the sunset. However...
Come on Cam!!!
-
WDCam! Loved seeing Cam give the ball to the kid in the Auburn beanie
-
I like Peyton, but I want Cam to be considered one of the best by winning the Super Bowl along with all of his other accomolisments.
So much so that no vamtyrd will ever reach that pinnacle.
-
Same here, pulling for the Panthers and Cam, but I won't be unhappy to see Payton and the Broncos win. I'd love to see Cam dominate, win the SB MVP and hoist the Lombardi trophy, then rub it in ALL of the bammer's faces because they are pulling against him.

Yawl know he'd better win it this year, cuz McTattoo is gon get th' next 'un.

90% of the media focus is on Denver/NE.
That's fine. Panthers will be overlooked a little but hard to beat.
-
Go Seahawks.
-
Cardinals sure did make it easy on them. Panthers are good but not that good.
Really looking forward to this SB. It's the first one that I recollect actually being excited about in a very long time. It's titillating.
-
Go Seahawks.
Pete Carroll sucks, and has a last name like a lady!
-
Panthers take them, I think it will be an ass whooping personally. In the land where both defenses are good, the better offense wins.
-
BTW Say what you will about Shula, he called a great game yesterday.

I find it funny that all the Bammers I know are having to come to grips with rooting for Peyton Manning because their Cam hate is so strong.

Rivera took a beating in the media last week. Wasn't gonna take another one.

You say that, but that damn defense started out ON FIRE!
They dictated how AZ had to play. And then made them pay.

I don't read AL.com but how long before they regurgitate a pay for play story about cam?

The level of Cam hate is astounding. They loathe him as much or more than I hate Mark Ingram.
Saw something from the game yesterday where the announcer said he'd voted for Cam, but had to consider Tom Brady for "getting as much as he did out of his limited supporting cast."
Got me thinking. Has anybody had less supporting cast than Cam with this level of success? Ted Ginn played for Arizona last season and barely made the field. Had less than 200 yards. He's never been anything other than a second or third option anywhere else he played -- Miami, San Fran and Arizona. And he's Cam's number one.
-

Today.
Scarbinsky wrote a whole thing calling Cam "money"
-
I find all of this Cam hate amusing. Its like jamming a stick into a huge ant bed and watching them crawl out of their hole and congregate as they all burn together.
-
Again, Bammers are very conflicted. Listened to 15 minutes of The Roundtable on JOX and all they talked about was Manning's legacy and that Cam was "ok" for a running quarterback. YUCK YUCK.
That dork Troy Aikman kept talking about Cam being a running back playing quarterback yesterday even after Cam stood in the pocket and threw lasers down field. Must be all those concussions he took.

You know he don't like to dwell in the past.

I thought he really did?

Ten minutes of radio down here and what I got was:
Areezoner wern't that good. Jest got 'spozed for bein' a average team. Larry Fitzgurld's time done past and Carsin Palmer ain't gonna get no team to no Super Bowl. They was a tired and broke down team. Cam gonna learn when he play a real defense like the Broncos that he caint do all that runnin' round and jest throw ballz up everwhere. Denver got two weeks to figger him out and that's enuff."
So Arizona wasn't any good. Seattle wasn't any good. Blah blah. blah.
-
You know he don't like to dwell in the past.
I dwell in the past.

BTW Say what you will about Shula, he called a great game yesterday.
Absolutely. Cam threaded some passes but much of the game he found receivers with plenty of room. Shula mixed the run game nicely too. I've bad mouthed him some but coming around unless he goes back in his shell.

Like GH said earlier, I have a feeling Rivera told him he didn't intend to take another barrage of questions like that again. Mike's not the brightest crayon but he's far from the dullest. Also, good steaks.

Watched a little of the Broncos/Patriots game. I'm just not feeling the Broncos.
Maybe I'm just misreading this thing but Peyton looked really old and feeble. The Patriot defense isn't on the same level as Carolina. Manning floats up those wobbly ducks against the Panthers and they're not going to land. They're going to get smacked down. He only threw the ball 32 times and completed just 17 of those. The 15 misses looked shit-tacular.
On the flip side I saw Carolina's numerous interceptions. And also the four or five others they could/should have had.
I realize the primary storyline is Peyton going out on top, the old general, end of an era blah blah blah. I think he's got a realistic chance to look like an old man and get clubbed like a baby seal. If Peyton tries to run? Some Panther is going to break him in half like peanut brittle.
Denver could tee off on Brady because New England's running game was next to last in the NFL. They could not run the ball against ANYBODY. Brady threw 56 passes. Fifty six in that one game. The Pats only ran the ball 17 times, three of those on Brady scrambles. Brandon Bolden was 40th in the AFC in rushing. He trailed Blake Bortles. And Ryan Fitzpatrick. He was New England's best option. And still the Patriots had 20 first downs to Denver's 12, 336 yards to Denver's 244. If Saban Clone kicks a field goal or two, Denver goes down in flames.
New England was completely one-dimensional. Brady to Gronk was ALL they had. Stopping a one-dimensional offense is one thing. That's not going to be the case for Carolina. If they try to bum rush Cam? Stewart's going to have 300 yards.
In the last eight games of the season Denver played two teams that ranked in the top ten in rushing yards. They lost both of those games. Carolina ranks first by a pretty wide margin.
Denver hasn't scored more than 24 points in regulation since November 1. Didn't score more than 24 in regulation but twice all season.
Carolina scored less than 27 only three times. First two games of the year and then the "Cam just had a baby" loss to the Falcons.
Means nothing, but it's gonna be interesting. Denver won't outscore the Panthers, they have to hope the defense can keep Carolina under three scores or so.
-
If the Panthers control the run game and short passing game they will win the game. Period.

Yes and if it comes down to Carolina's last series for the win, there is no stopping SuperCam.
We all know it!

Said it earlier, I don't think it will even be close. Camthers win by impressive margin.
-
With the quality of defense on the field, I do not think it will be a runaway.
I feel it will be a tough game and the Camthers should win. But truthfully the Patriots should have beaten the Broncos on paper.
So I am not counting old Mannning out.

What paper?
New England was down to its fifth string running back. Every receiver was playing injured. They were at Denver. They'd played like drunk monkeys the second half of the season. Lost to Miami. I was surprised it was close even with Peyton's decrepit ass out there.

I remember one time when this girl that I met at the Supper Club, she was from Selma, and we went at it like a couple of drunk monkeys in the back of her Accord in the parking lot. Tore it up, I did.

Not sure Denver d as quite as impressive as people think. Like kaos said they were able to tee off on Brady for several reasons. He's not mobile, no running game, Brady to gronk is it. And they still beat them in the stat column. Denver gave up 340 yards to that one dimensional O. What will they give up to the Cam juggernaut?
Unless Carolina goes full tard - like gf said, I don't see it being close. Peyton looked bad. Really bad. Love the guy but this is the end for him. His arm is ragged out.
-
I think this will be another Denver beatdown like the Seahawks gave em.
-

Agreed. I think it's going to be a blowout.
-
Camthers by a FG!

Agree. Gonna be close. Cam runs for winning score. Anyway the league prefers it be a tight game.

Things I didn't know.
Bama fans have glommed on to Von Miller. All about some Von. I was curious. Why?
Well... Von spent three years being coached at Texas A&M by former Bama head coach Joe Kines. While there, Kines told Miller he reminded him of Derrick Thomas and then showed Miller film of the former Tider. Miller now wears 58 because of Thomas. So he might as well be an ex Bama player. Derrick Thomas' ghost is guiding him.

How long did it take them to find that photo? It's like on Page 16 of a google search.
Fuckholes.

There are a few trolls but for the most part people are calling them out on it
