Title: LSU vs. Troy Postponed: Good Or Bad For Us?
Post by: AUChizad on September 05, 2008, 07:03:06 PM
Me and some friends have discussed this.

Why it could be bad:
-Tape of how Troy ran against LSU's defense could have been beneficial to us. They are still running Franklin's offense, so it would have been good to see how they responded to it.
-LSU gets one more week to rest up and review tape of and focus on us.

On the flip of a coin, it could be bad for pretty much the same reason:
-LSU not seeing out Troy's similar offense responds to them.
-Not giving their shaky QB another game to work out the kinks.

What say you?

I can't decide.  I'm saying it's a disadvantage only because we would see what kind of blitzes they had for a spread offense.

The problem is, LSU is athletic enough to play a base defense and still whip Troy's ass.  Against us, they're going to need a scheme.  They can't out-muscle or out-run us.  Really, I don't think it helps or hurts us.

Sadly, and morbidly, the only reason why playing Troy would have helped us is injuries that might have occurred in that game.
