Title: Murr Krimmus
Post by: Snaggletiger on December 22, 2015, 09:30:28 AM
3 days away.  Got all your shopping done, on-line or otherwise?  What's your plans for Christmas?  Do you hang around the house with family or do you travel and spend all or part of it with other relatives?  We did my side of the family this past weekend in Montgomery.  The usual killer eats, drinks and making merry.  Tempered by a wife who got a virus and couldn't go and my dad, who fell and broke his hip and will spend the next 3 weeks at HealthSouth.  Otherwise, I've got 90% of my Christmas goodies bought and we'll spend the rest of it here in Dothan.

Plans?

Hanging in the hood for Christmas then taking my boys whitetail trophy hunting for a few days in the Wiregrass.

Sorry to hear about your Dad's hip. I've been with family in horsepitals during holiday season and everyone obviously wants to be home even more.

Hope all of you have a nice Christmas, except Dallas.

Thanks, I hope one of the whitetails shits on you.

More of the traditional open presents at home and go over to the extended families and eat/drink type dealio for the Simps. I'm fine with that I suppose. Not too in the mood for the extravagant really.

Yo Snaggle, hope the wife and the old man get to feeling better. Give them a couple shots of the whiskey Christmas morning, they should be good to go.

Thanks, but I think it was the whiskey that did them both in.

Sort of in the Krampus category.

Christmas used to be great even though I did it all and my ex-wife just sat around and bitched.  Now?  It's mixed up.  Kids too grown to really care like they used to, muddled families and always working around something or somebody.

And it's too damn hot.  I spent a week in Memphis around Thanksgiving and it was cold at night. I liked that and was in the Christmas spirit.  Now?  80 degrees and thunderstorms and tornadoes?  Seems pointless. And empty.

Love my kids and not-my kids immensely. Love my LA friend more than I can ever explain and in a way I never knew existed before her.  But this whole Christmas sauna has me unhappy.

I did load up on the Holly Nog. If you haven't had it?  I recommend it.   The more you drink the better it gets.

Amended...

My not-my daughter just gave me a bluetooth Millennium Falcon speaker and a small book of 50 things she loves and admires about me.  I'm gonna cry.  Merry Christmas, losers.  I got a wonderful life.

If I were to write a book about 50 things I like about you, I should've started 10 years ago. I get to one and have writer's block.

As I lay waiting for Santa, I'm thinking about how blessed or lucky, depending on one's belief system I guess, that most of us are.

Lots of guys out there in deserts and on mountains tonight just hoping they live to see their family again. Folks in hospitals in pain.  Bums in alleys just trying not to freeze.

Not to get too mushy but we all have a lot to be thankful for, no matter how bad the cards are we are holding. There are worse hands.

I'm trying to instill in my kids that it's not about the presents and money spent. I know they don't get it now but hopefully they will one day.

Hope all you x'ers have a Merry Chrismas and remember the reason.

And Evan Williams egg nog is da bomb, btw. Received a gift bottle and got into it early yesterday. It made me sleepy.

Santa got us diverted from landing at DFW to McAllen and sat there for about 3 hours due to real shitty weather in Dallas, airport was closed off and on all day, could not get off the plane due to us be an international flight. Come home to my little Texas hometown that was hit by and EF3/4 tornado, luckily it missed our neighborhood but about 12 people were killed in this area.

Can't wait to see what I get next year.

All I got from this...Santa hates Dallas and apparently so does tornadoes.

And don't forget American Airlines, and we should throw in the city of McAllen since they would not let us deplane nor provide any food, which now means there are about 165 people who I will most likely never meet again that had to suffer because of me.
