Kid has a rifle.

Need some blocking.

We are not getting much push at the line.

Kid is a baller.

We can't get wide on this team, similar to last season.

Where the hell is Duke?

He already caught a nice one.

We need to feed him more, though.

I agree with dumbass announcer that said substituting on every play is hurting our momentum on O. White doing good minus pick.

Leave Frost on bench and tre Williams stays in.

If the d stops them after kick off, we have a shot. At 21-0, we r done and WT ready to start axing coaches. Starting with the OC.

It's like we get in the deep part of the Red Zone and Gus/Lashlee morph into the Shula-esque awful playacting.  :wtf:

QB play is much better, at least we are moving the ball.  Of course it is against a weak defense. After the interception in the red zone coach has taken the cowards way out on the last 3 trips.  I don't understand how we were ranked so high preseason. Muschamp is a great defensive mind but nobody can take a 6 year shit sandwich of a defense and turn it into a chicken sandwich in less than a year.

Yeah, it was hype for nothing. That is certain now. This MSU isn't a complete shit storm but they aren't good by any stretch. The SEC is mostly pathetic this year.

Coaching in this game has been terrible.  4 red Zoe trips =6 points. 9:00 minutes left down 11, been running all over them and we decide to start throwing the damn ball, why didn't we do that the last 3 times in the red zone?

Gus did a little panicking.

I'm happy with SW. His upside is pretty good. I think he can run the option a little more and be successful.

I feel Gus did not trust him enough to just run the offense.

And we had plenty of time left at 9:00 in the fourth and we start slinging it?

Weird game, but not on the QB this time!

The loss sucks, but I am impressed with Shaun White. Gus and Mini-Gus did him no favors with some of the head scratchingly confusing play calls, but I like the kid. I think he has a future.

The defense played the best I've seen since the 1st half of game 1.

My takes tonight:

* For being a Freshman in his first snap against an SEC team on ESPN, White performed well. Well enough to win. He's a gamer and has a much better in game mindset than JJ.  21 of 28 for almost 200 yards. Very serviceable which is all any of us asked for.

* The defense looked good AFTER the 1st quarter. Held MSU to 3 points after that.

* Total yards - AU 390  MSU 329

* Redzone is really what killed us. 4 trips inside the 15 = 6 points. Not good.

* Overall - this was much better, but still a team that has some poor leadership and even more poor coaching/decisions. Where the heck is Duke? Why does Gus suddenly look as if he's in a panic? The play calling...sheeeh. For the first time ALL year, most of this loss was not on the QB or any other position on the field. It was on the coaching staff.

I agree with you 100%. I saw drastic improvement on both sides of the ball. Gus and mini-Gus took another 10 steps backward.

I know we outgained a team that outplayed LSU two weeks ago. We left 3 TDs on the field. I also know we have a QB now that doesn't look like a deer in the headlights. But apparently we have a coach that does.

Another thing we did tonight was put ourselves in 1st and 2nd in long by committing penalties at the worst times. This did Sean no favors. He performed well but its hard to get out of 2nd and 20.

But seriously....Ricardo Louis and Duke...WTF? Players appear and disappear randomly. I don't get it. Kerryon too in the 2nd half. He was the hot hand.

When Kerryon and Barber were being fed the ball it seemed we moved the ball at will. Gus going away from it was about as boneheaded as the fake statue of liberty pass on 3rd and 20.

Agree with all you said in both posts except about the play calling. I can't totally fault 390 with a freshman qb they were trying to stay safe with early.

More than play calling, and I agree about the lack of balls to the players you mentioned but the red zone play was terrible. The missed fg hurt but I think we should've been going for TD's on a couple of those 4th downs simply because I thought our d was running short on stops. But they played considerably well for the 2nd half.

I'd personally rather have Jake back than Frost. Hope Tre Williams will be back soon. I don't get why he and Holland haven't been playing more.

Overall, agree with above. This was more on coaching but I think they limited things because of White being a RS freshman. We don't want another shell shocked qb, so I get it.

Disappointed but not surprised. Pleased with d effort but we have to get more rush out of front 4.

Much tougher to make a bowl but I still have hope. Keep hope alive.

Agreed with 100% on both post. I like White, da boy is a gamer.

Somebody take the bullets out of the gun so we can quit shooting ourselves in da foot. Some of that is on coaching.  The dumb ass play calls in the red zone were pure coaching.

The D showed up finally and played well. Some of that was because the offense had long drives.

AU won in all phases except the damn scoreboard.

I think we'll be good at the qb position with SWV, have to stop the penalties. Gus is beginning to lose some luster with that offensive genius shit.

Defense was vastly improved in my opinion.  Holding MSU to 17 was enough to win the game 90% of the time.

Offense was an absolute abortion.  I don't understand what's gone wrong. Malzahn seems to have the yips himself.  Coaching too hard I think.

Now officially a debacle.

Kentucky beat Missiouri.  The Mildcats are no longer an easy out.
Arkansas showed signs of life and we have to go there. Beating us would save Fat Ass for another year.

Georgia, Ole Miss, A&M, Bama are all very likely losses.  Ugly ones.

No idea what's going on but it's fugly.   Get rid of the orange shoes and the shiny decals.

I told Jumbo last night, that Arkansas might be Auburn's only SEC win this season. I agree, the shoes look fuckin hideous. Sean White can run the offense, just as long as Coach Malzahn/Lashlee will stop out thinking themselves. 1st 10 after a big 18 yard pass play? Reverse, gains negative yardage. 3rd and goal at the 1 bring in Jeremy Johnson to dive over the pile. MSU calls timeout, bring Sean White back in, bad snap, gains negative yardage.

Also, how the fuck does the defense ALWAYS seem to be in the right place? Opponent's Linebacker always seem to be in the path of every damn pass over the middle as if the know...our linebackers look like their just guessing as to where the pass is going. I think Malzahn's calling system has been deciphered and with him substituting nearly every play, it allows the opponent to be in the correct defense to stuff whatever is coming...speed sweep? 8 defenders are standing there waiting to clobber the ball carrier. Those plays only seem to work against us.

Tuberville and Gran stole Gus' mojo. Presently, we look like a six win team headed for Birmingham. Quite an accomplishment with so much talent on the roster.

The good news is that we showed better overall effort and the kid played well in his first outing. Have to admit I cringed each time he broke into State's secondary.

Very proud of Barber who gives his all. Didn't pay enough attention to our offensive line play but might have a look at the replay.
I pray the angel of mercy breaks into our locker room and steals our shoes.

Also, how the fuck does the defense ALWAYS seem to be in the right place?

I think this has more to do with the timing of the offense than anything.

When a play is slow to develop or if a quarterback doesn't go through his reads fast enough, it gives the defense time to react and get into position.

It's also why it seems like our defense is almost always OUT of position. Why is it that teams can routinely hit curl routes or guys in the flat and have them be seemingly wide open? It's because their QB has protection and can go through his reads and then release the ball quickly.
