Former Auburn signee Zeke Pike has been dismissed from the Murray State football program after being arrested last weekend, according to the school's student newspaper, the Murray State News.
"Right now basically it is more important for Zeke Pike to take care of Zeke Pike rather than worry about football related items and give him the option to work on that," Racers coach Mitch Stewart told the News. "He can now step away and take care of himself without worrying about football."
According to the Paducah (Ky.) Sun's Edward Marlowe, Pike was arrested Sunday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, disregarding a stop sign, failure to signal, resisting arrest, second-degree escape and open container.
(UPDATE, 3:55 p.m.: According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Department report, Pike was tasered after escaping custody while being escorted to a blood test, which he later refused.)
Pike signed with Auburn as a quarterback out of high school in 2012, but was dismissed after a June 2012 arrest for public intoxication. He transferred to Louisville, sat out a year due to NCAA transfer rules, and played sparingly in 2013 as a tight end and on special teams.
He was arrested on another alcohol-related charge in early 2014 and did not return to the team when Bobby Petrino took over the program, transferring this year to Murray State.

He should've gone to Ole Miss. A mediocre school and a mediocre QB, but neither one ever lost a party.

second-degree escape
Cause he was a slow white kid? They didn't have to run real hard to catch him?

In most states escaping "custody" (like running after you're in handcuffs or a patrol car, which would be 3rd here) is considered a lesser escape. Here escape 2nd is full bore escaping out of jail or prison.
