Title: Rare Feminist Rant From Jen
Post by: Tiger Wench on September 02, 2008, 10:34:40 AM
Okay, if I hear one more fucking "motherhood" organization saying Sarah Palin cannot be a mom to 5 kids and also be Vice President, I am going to go postal on someone.  No one said that about Al Gore, or any other man - how come the raising of kids is only associated with the mom???  Clinton had Chelsea, Bush had the twins, Carter had that hag Amy - and no one said shit about that.  That makes me fucking insane.  Excuse me - does she not have a husband?  Is he not capable of being a parent?  Why does it have to be HER responsibility?  What kind of mysogenistic bastards are these people, to keep saying that only women can be parents, and that women can ONLY be parents???

And while I am on the topic, I am only going to say one thing about her teenaged daughter being preggers.  It is sad, but hey, it happens.  She is choosing to keep the baby, and I thought the statement Palin put out was right on the money.  She said she and her husband will be supportive of the daughter and the boyfriend/father, but that they are about to learn a tough lesson about the responsibilities of raising a child.  WELL SAID.

I loved the comment in one article - the boyfriend was a "bad boy" and a "hell raiser".  his crime?  Fishing out of season. :stewie:

Now the media needs to back the fuck off.  leave the family alone.  This has NOTHING to do with Palin's ability to be a Vice President.

Excellent rant TigerWench!

You might also point out that the media has said nothing to question Biden's ability to be both a widower father to his kids AND a senator after his first wife and youngest child were tragically killed in a car accident.  Apparently he was able to do both jobs so well in fact that he's one of the longest serving senators in Congress.

And while on the subject of Biden no one (read as media-types) seems to be pointing out that nasty little hedge-fund deal that Biden's son got tangled up in; I guess because he's a Democrat he's off-limits.

As Rush pointed out earlier today if "Feminism" was a real cause they'd be raising up Sarah Palin as a paragon but obviously that only counts if the person is a liberal woman.

Well, that's just it.  Modern Feminism is not about successful women.  It's about Liberalism, their misguided values and absolution of responsibility.  She stands for everything they hate.  She's a mother.  She doesn't claim to be a victim.  She didn't terminate any of her pregnancies, and she insulted them when she stated that abortion was never an option.  She didn't encourage her daughter to terminate her pregnancy.  She did encourage her daughter to deal with the responsibility.  They're going to do their best to demonize her.  They've already mobilized a team in Alaska to dig up every possible scandel they can contrive.  She's a successful Conservative woman, and she's more of a man than The Obama, Biden and McCain.

Some reporter on CNN was interviewing the editor of some Alaskan newspaper, who of course was a liberal.  But even he said that "the Alaskan landscape is littered with the bodies of people who underestimated Sarah Palin...".

The hairy armpitted femilesbos just hate her because she is both smart AND gorgeous.  She can dazzle you with her intellect or with her smile (or with her shotgun), and kick your ass either way.

Spot on!

And on this subject, I couldn't help but notice how great looking the women are at the Republican Convention last night as compared to the "hairy armpitted femilesbos" at the DNC last week.  Regarding Sarah I roared when Fred Thompson said, and I'm paraphrasing here, Sarah Palin is the ONLY candidate ever from either party who could field-dress a moose with the possible exception of Teddy Roosevelt.  That was one of the best damn lines I heard all night!

That's offensive...  But TRUE.

Pregnancies like this could have happened before to candidates or sitting execs. The only difference is that:
Quote
If any of these daughters conceived, but no pregnancy or birth was reported, what happened? One possibility is miscarriage. But the Guttmacher analysis suggests a different answer: Most unintended pregnancies in the higher income and education brackets end in abortion.

Remember that before you judge or poke fun at Sarah Palin. She's not the candidate whose daughter messed up. She's the candidate who didn't get rid of the mess.

Interesting article on the subject:

I don't really care or have any interest in this subject, but there are some other things that were not considered in the Guttmacher analysis and the Slate article that makes this whole topic and discussion complete speculation at best.  There's no mention, discussion or review of personal values or morals.  There's no actual study or results presented by associated economic and education brackets.  How much money would the media pay an abortion clinic or associated worker for information like this (an executive's unwed pregnant daughter getting an abortion)?  Does anyboday really care about this?

I love me some Angie Harmon.  Thanks for the smoking picture.  You should use that one for her first round in the tourney

The Jumbo quote function strikes again.

That happened to me twice yesterday and I am perfectly capable of using the quote function.  I think that either (a) it's screwed up or ( b)someone is fucking around with people and their use of said quote function.

*pause.. considers*

Howard, you dick...

Functions seems to work fine for me and this software tags any post with an edit footnote no matter how big of an e-penis someone thinks they have.
