Title: Auburn to win SEC
Post by: Godfather on July 16, 2015, 03:01:50 PM
As voted on at SEC media days.  Some how we won't win the West but will win the conference championship. Not sure how that will work, but I'm claiming it.

Quote
HOOVER, Ala. -- For the first time in more than two decades, the voters at SEC media days weren't unified on a divisional champion and overall champion.

Georgia was the clear favorite among the voting media to win the East, and Alabama narrowly was chosen to win the West. The Auburn Tigers, however, were the pick to win the conference outright.

Asked to pick the conference champion, voters gave Auburn a 96-80 edge over rival Alabama. But when it came in balloting for the Western Division, the Crimson Tide had more total points (1,405) than the Tigers (1,362), despite the fact that Auburn had 16 more first-place votes (108 to 92).

LSU was picked to finish third in the West, followed by Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Mississippi State, despite finishing 10-3 and spending more than a month as the country's No. 1 team last season, was picked to finish last.

"This is my seventh year coming here, and I think all seven years they've pretty much picked us to finish last in the West," Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said. "It's kind of like a tradition, I guess. We don't really worry much about that. I'm much more concerned with how we finish."

While predicting an order of finish in the West offered mixed results, the picture in the East was much clearer, with Georgia -- the No. 3 choice to win the conference -- receiving 166 first-place votes.

The Bulldogs were followed Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, Florida, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Can we go ahead and put the 2015 flag up at JHS?

Let me explain this to you simpletons. AU doesn't win the west, thus they don't play in the SEC championship game. This means AU likely loses to UA but that would likely be the only loss, so AU goes to the playoff.

No, its their voting system that caused this based on votes 7-1 picking system of which bama had less lower placed votes. Auburn, however, was picked outright to win the SEC by having more first place votes.

If I tell you that a piss ant can eat a bail of hay, give him a fork. Let me do the thinking around here. You just stay in the background and try to make wiseass remarks that no one thinks are funny.

Can we come up with something else besides a flag? You know how they offend folks.

It's obvious, really.  Alabama will run roughshod through their schedule, but when all 115 of their draft eligible players get their paperwork to submit for their draft status, they get so busy trying to spell their names and figure out what their majors are that they forget to go to Atlanta.
Auburn is the closest West team to the ATL, so they get the call to stand in and beat the bullpuppies for the second time.

We play top 25 defense, we win it all.  We don't, we're in Tampa or Orlando come January 1st. Simple.

One thing that I haven't heard anyone say and is almost a certainty, we play top 25 defense, we are in the playoff.

You won't hear it from others (at least not a credible source) but I've done my homework with the numbers. Book it. I realize it's very simple analysis, so simple in fact a caveman could do it. But, it's true.

The bigger question, in my mind, is if his high school offense will work at the collegiate level.

Only if he fields a decent D this year. If we suck then he was actually brought up in the Tuberville coaching tree.

The new drinking game this fall will be during Go Gata games.  Drink every time the announcers say Lord Saybinz name when talking about Corch Makeralweenie.

Being shitfaced is no way to go through the college football season this year. It didn't work in 2008 or 2012.

Depends on what your definition of it is. I mean, when you say: "Man, I used to get it almost every time I went in the Supper Club and had my parachute pants and Old Spice on" and when Rottenbottom says, "Man, I got my Trunk Club for men going on and I just know I'm going to get it tonight."

These are two totally opposite its.

At least after meeting you, I guessed so. Am I right?

Yes, but it favored the European version moreso in points scored and my disgust.

I do both of these things. Minus the old spice and parachute pants.
