Seriously? 7 attacks in that short a time? Shark Week on Discovery starts in a few days. Wonder if they'll talk about this. I've never heard of that many attacks along one coast line. Authorities say a man apparently bitten by a shark off the North Carolina Outer Banks is being airlifted to a hospital with serious wounds.
Justin Gibbs, the director of emergency services in Hyde County, says the attack happened around noon Wednesday on a beach on Ocracoke Island. The man, who is about 50, suffered wounds to his ribcage, lower leg, hip and both hands as he tried to fight off the animal.
Laura Irish Hefty of New Hope, Pennsylvania, says she was about 100 yards away when she saw a crowd gathering on the beach. Hefty says the man was treated on the beach for about 20 minutes until he was stabilized and carried to a road.
The man is the seventh person attacked along the North Carolina coast in three weeks.

I think it's time we ban sharks. I call for the removal of all references to these vicious killers from every possible venue including:
Banning the movie "Jaws"
Banning the movie "Sharknado" (keep the "nado", remove the shark)
Ban the cartoon "Jabber Jaws"
Remove the series "Shark Week" (it only serves to rile them up)
Ban the term "Loan Shark" and replace it with "Lending Halibut"
Ban the term "Butt Shark" and replace it with "Posterior Guppy"
Anyone using any manner of communication that includes "shark" (any variation of shark) is to be shunned and ridiculed.
