Title: Out Of Conference Schedule
Post by: Snaggletiger on May 12, 2015, 11:34:12 AM
per the dot  I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!!  I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others.  I like male genatalia in and around my mouth. at al, here are the non-conference opponents for the next 3 years. In my opinion...absolute SUCK!!!!  I see one match up that I care to watch and that's Louisville.

Auburn's non-conference schedule for the next three seasons is set.

The Tigers will host Georgia Southern and Louisiana-Monroe in 2017, an Auburn administrator confirmed to AL.com Monday. The Tigers will open the season against Georgia Southern on Sept. 2.

Auburn had previously scheduled a trip to Clemson (Sept. 9), and the home game against Mercer (Sept. 16).

Georgia Southern recently moved up to the FBS level and is in the Sun Belt Conference. The Eagles upset Will Muschamp's Florida team in 2013 as an FCS squad.

Georgia Southern won the Sun Belt title in its first season, finishing 9-3 overall with an 8-0 conference record in 2014.

Auburn's non-conference opponents

2015

Sept. 5: Louisville (Georgia Dome, Atlanta)
Sept. 12: Jacksonville State
Oct. 3: San Jose State
Nov. 21: Idaho

2016

Sept. 3: Clemson
Sept. 10: Arkansas State
Oct. 1: Louisiana-Monroe
Nov. 19: Alabama A&M

2017

Sept. 2: Georgia Southern
Sept. 9: at Clemson
Sept. 16: Mercer
Oct. 7: Louisiana-Monroe

I'm sick of seeing Clemson on the schedule. I'd rather see an AU/FSU match-up.

Werd.  AU/FSU used to be a fairly regular match up and they dang sure had some wild games.  I think a lot of AU/ACC games would be far more intriguing than another series with Climpsum.  Baston Callage or North Carolina would be cool.  Let's bring THE U to JHS.

I am still holding out hope that one day I can see Auburn play in the big house or at Notre Dame Stadium.

ND would be cool. I think that one would be worth the travel as a fan.

I was thinking home and home with SMU, North Texas and TCU.

I would love to see us schedule one of the service academies. A game against my beloved Goats would be a hell of a lot more interesting than a glorified scrimmage against the Northeast Arkansas Queef Sniffers, The Ferocious Monkey Wrench Turners of DeSoto Technical College, or the Devry Institute Burger Flippers. Still, I'd prefer to play either of the latter 3 than Clemson.

Come on, JJ - make it happen.

I could see that, but. I'd rather see AU/Army. Just sayin.

I'm of the opinion with 4 OOC games, you play one legit Power 5 Conference team.  Clemson fits that description but nobody wants to see that game again...ever. Then play one half way decent Mid-Major.  A San Diego State...Colorado State...Wyoming.  The last two should be 2A High Schools.  I've said it before and many disagree, but I'd get Troy on there in a heartbeat.  Let's face it.  If we're contending for SEC titles, we should beat that program 18 out of every 20 times we play...or 95.3992% of the time.  If you lose to them, you've got plenty of other problems to address other than worrying about what the world thinks about that loss.  It's an OOC game that would cause a huge buzz around the State and pack the stadium out.  And allow people to question why a certain other school refuses to schedule them.

Reasonable wish list for top shelf OOC games.  Not marquis matchups, just intriguing games people would take interest in.

UCLA
Okie State
BYU
Georgia Tech (Always loved that rivalry...Wreck Tech Pajama Parade)
North Carolina
Oregon State

Goddamn.  We've got to do better.  Especially now that our schedule is fucked every other year with the rearrangement of the UGA/Bama games.

TUF donations, tickets, travel expenses...give the people a reason to spend this cheddar, Jay.

Actually, I've seen a couple of very close and "entertaining" games against Ga Southern. So close, in fact, it wasn't enjoyable. IIRC, there was an AU TD with less than 2 min left to win?

Anywho, I don't mind one of the SoCon teams on the schedule every year but would def like to see ONE strong ooc power conference opponent at least every other year.

And, I think we need to pick UAB back up. They beat Saban, you know.

Yeah, well UAB would be an easy win. The AU team wouldn't even have to show up.

You can't just take UAB for granted, dumbass. This is the kind of attitude of people who know very little about college football.

Ok, sorry for calling you a dumbass. But you really should educate yourself before you jump on here and make irresponsible comments. This proves you don't know anything about college football. UAB has some big wins in its record book.

I take it back. You are a dumbass.
Yes...yes.  Let the hate flow through you.

A non-conference game against UAB would be so easy, the UA trustees wouldn't even charge for it.

I don't want any more Tech. We can't beat them with better talent in this century.
Would like to see a home and home with Notre Dame, USC,  Ohio State, Michigan and Oklahoma.
Never care to see Clemson on the schedule again.

No GaTech until Paul Johnson is gone.  No benefit in playing a true triple-option team...or any team with a unique offense.  You'll prep as hard as you can, they'll do what they do, and you'll never see it again that season.

Apples and oranges.

Johnson's triple-option isn't a scheme with inherent emphasis on pace of play.

i wouldn't say apples and oranges but agree re: pace.

Actually, the furor seemingly schedules triple option teams right before the Iron Bowl because of the similarities. But fast pace certainly doesn't seem to be focus with Johnson's O. He likes to grind. And punt.

We have a system that plays to our strengths and this season could resemble Petrino's 2010 Arkansas offense that had 5 receivers with over 600 yards for the season though I do think we can muster a run game to balance our offense much better with enough defense that has us looking more along the lines of the Petrino/Chizik duo under Tuberville.

Our offensive linemen are now carrying the system tag come draft-time. And Tech's linemen are judged moreso as a group than for their individual talent. We just require more Jimmy's and Joe's at the skill positions than Tech does to operate their offense.
