FLORENCE — Former University of Alabama and Russellville High football player Brent Calloway is free on bail after his arrest over the weekend on drug charges, police said.

Calloway, 22, of Florence, is charged with felony unlawful possession of dangerous drugs and second-degree possession of marijuana, police said.

Florence police Sgt. Scott Perkins said the arrest occurred at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Perkins said Calloway was pulled over after he ran a red light at Wood Avenue and Hermitage Drive.

"A drug dog was called to do a search on the outside of the vehicle," Perkins said. "It gave an indication that the odor of drugs was present."

Police recovered 8 grams of spice, which is synthetic marijuana, and a small bag containing marijuana, Perkins said.

Spice, y'all.  He learned that shit from those thugs in Auburn.

There was only one "dangerous" drug in his possession, synthetic Cannabis (anything man made is dangerous, especially if it's laced with Acetone and smoked, like some of the synthetic shit is).

It's amazing the effect a wrong decision can have on one's life. He set the wheels in motion by allowing himself to be duped by that gang of liars, now he's got to live with the repercussions of his choice.

Don't know about the arrest but I think we think the meal ticket was shopped by the guardian.
