Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was present at the Charlotte nightclub Label on Saturday night when shots were fired and two people were hurt. The former Auburn standout was unharmed, reported the Charlotte Observer and WSOC-TV.

Newton was attending a private party associated with the CIAA basketball tournament, which was played in Charlotte over the weekend.

Newton was on the stage with many other people while rapper Young Jeezy performed when the shots were fired at around 7 p.m. Saturday. Newton ducked with the rest of the crowd.

That's pretty bold, shooting from the stage and being able to get away with it.

"...former Auburn standout was unharmed..." is basically saying the bullets ricocheted off him, probably harming the two other people.
