Title: SB Sunday Is Here.
Post by: Snaggletiger on February 01, 2015, 03:31:27 PM
Super Bowl XXVIVXXVIIIXXV cranks up in a little over 3.  3 racks of baby backs in the oven for low and slow and will be finished off with the sauce over the coals at 5:00.  Biggest thing I'm looking forward to, as always, is to see if the advertisers spending a $kagwillion bucks per minute will step up their game and humor me.  Have no doubt Katy Perry will try to bring the house down at half time.

Picks?

I say New England goes up big and then let's the air out. Or....maybe the other way around.

Seattle 19, New England 17.

Seahawks defense will keep the Braditriots out of the endzone enough and keep their own offense close enough to get 3s. Expect Beast Mode to do something big (and probably stupid too) and put the team of coffee and rain over the top.

Going with the Seahawks. Nothing against the Patriots really, its just I wanting to see Sherman to have to leave at halftime to see his boy being born and then make it back by the 4th quarter in time to make a game saving interception.

Seahawks - 27
Patriots - 22

Is Auburn representing in the big game?

Negative for players. But on the Seahawks coaching staff is Will Harriger.

Harriger, whose career began in 2004 at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, has spent the majority of his time on the defensive side of the ball, focusing on the linebacker position. He has also coached at Tennessee-Martin (2005-06), Auburn (2007), Texas (2008), Tennessee-Martin (2009), Texas Tech (2010-11) and most recently at Florida (2012-13).

I did not know what songs Katie Perry sings but I'll bet she's a naughty girl. I would spank her hard. Show her who's the boss, I would.

That was the stupidest play call I have ever seen. I go down giving the ball to Lynch down there. I would fire Carrol.

Stooopid play call. It will go down as the biggest FAIL in Super Bowl history.

well that was awesome.

So glad to see Seattle lose especially showing out like the punks they are.

Commercials were at an all time low.

Game was boring until last 1:00.

Commercials were abysmal and most were depressing. These Tweets sum it up.

It's pretty bad when about half of the commercials where for upcoming NBC shows.

Sucked?

Has everyone forgotten Pete Carroll in 2004? How his lobbying and cheating kept AU from the NC we deserved?  Or Russell Wilson telling us to go fuck ourselves and going to play for Bert the Fat?  Fuck them both. Hard. Let them lose.

Yeah I know. Belladixk is saban in a hoodie. I hate that fucker too.

So it was a no win, really.

The last Seahawk offensive play? Bullshit it was a bad call. Fuck all these babbling TV idiots second guessing. It was a perfect call just poorly executed. Had it scored they would all be talking about the genius of the call. If browner doesn't jam kearse at the line and turn him outside, butler gets picked and it's an easy touchdown.

Lots of things to say about that game. "Shitty call" isn't one of them.

Nothing to add about the crappy, depressing commercials.  Great game, though.  Couldn't ask for a better, down to the wire game.

Perhaps, but a lot of those "ifs" are irrelevant if you let the steroid freak pound the ball once up the middle and then use your timeout if it doesn't work.

Lynch didn't have a negative gain in the entire 2nd half.  It had just been 1st and 5 from the 5, and he muscled his way for 4 yards.  There's absolutely no way with the Super Bowl on the line with at least two shots that Lynch doesn't get in the endzone.

How anyone could believe that--all things considered--the call was not one if the dumbest play calls in history, is inconceivable.

That was an idiotic call. I run Lynch if I lose my mind and throw, it's outside and not over the middle.

Piss poor and dumb

Don't recall Wilson making that statement but even Jesus would have given Chizik & Co. the finger with that offensive line returning.
Superman did!

It's a bad call when you have Lynch who almost never gets stuffed twice in a row.
I might have run Lynch once and spread 'em wide or overloaded wide on the second try for a delayed shallow pass (to Lynch)-QB keep option at the goal.
Lynch seldom fails to execute-make New England's defense execute!

Commercials sucked.

Over the season Seattle ran Lynch five times from the one. He was stopped four of the five.

Pats were jammed in to shut down the run.

If kearse gets one more foot to the left? It's an easy touchdown.  And everybody celebrates the brilliance of Seattle and Wilson for catching the patriot defense by surprise.  ESPN spends 40 minutes licking their jocks this morning for the gutsy call.

Did they not blow them for nearly an hour straight for hitting the very low percentage TD pass at the end of the first half? Only an idiot does that. 99% of the time you kick a field goal in that position. But they were amazing and daring and brilliant for throwing it up there instead.

The throw was a good call. Caught NE in a bad spot. Kearse does his job and the talk today is about how stupid the patriots were for not being prepared for Wilson and the dynamic Seahawk offense.

Yeah you run him on third down and maybe fourth. But it wasn't a bad play at all. Pretty smart actually. Just wasn't executed. Kearse didn't fight.  Cost them the game.

Don't necessarily think there is a "bad call" from that position on the field save either a slow developing one in the backfield (similar to a draw) or a wide play that requires precision blocking. But for me you live and die with Lynch just as you would expect Kobi or  MJ to take the last shot.

Just heard Sal Paloantonionododio on Cowherd.  He interviewed 3 New England DB's who all said they were practicing against that very play as late as Thursday.

I call horseshit!
How often has Seattle attempted, used or even required that particular pass? And unless N.E. had a mole or camera at practices, why would they practice defending said little, if ever used play?
The mystique is that Bilicheck (like Saban) covers all bases. Well that would explain why west Alabama was Johnny on the spot rather than being gored and trampled by Lynch.

It was a bad call IMO.  Could it have worked, yes.

Quote
The Pats allowed opponents to score 81% of the time in power situations (runs on 3rd/4th & <2, or w/i 2 yds of goalline). Dead last in NFL.

Quote
SEA was second in the league in power situations, getting stuffed just 17% of the time. Lynch converted 17 of 20 3rd/4ths & short this year.

Maybe they planned too but he was just there so the NFL would not fine him.

Surprise call...yes. It's iust NOT the play I would have called. I would have called something along the lines of Cam to Lutzie 2010 IRON BOWL w/play action. That is all.
