If possible, I hope that ISIS decides that the Sugar Bowl is the prime target to strike tonight.

If Alabama wins this game, the DB play better improve real quick. Collins and Jones are the only ones that ever actually look for the ball. Mariota will torch them.
And Collins just went to the locker room with a fucked up shoulder.
-
Thomas #3 for the bucks is a baller. Dude can catch the ball.

Ha...your guys look for the ball.

I hope Alabama wins this, but I'm fucking terrified of Oregon at this point. This OSU third stringer may be legit, but Christ, he's a third stringer making his second start.
-
And of course, Sims throws a pick 6. 34-21 OSU.
-
42-28 OSU with 3 minutes left. The good thing is I won't have to watch my team get skull fucked by Oregon. The sad part? The team that beat my team is going to get skull fucked by Oregon.

Yes they will

OSU fans chanting "We want Oregon!" during the post-game show. They must not know the score of the Rose Bowl or something.

Bama fans would be doing the same thing

I'm not saying Ohio State isn't good. They were better than I expected. But I am saying that TCU or Oregon would have beat Bama by 30 tonight. Maybe ANY night. In 3 out of the last 4 meaningful games, Alabama got thumped in total yards. Can't complain about 12-2, but that needs to be addressed immediately.
-
Also, in the BCS era Alabama probably beats FSU for the championship. In the playoffs, neither team makes the game. Great year of college football.
-
Still say this was the worst and luckiest Alabama team of the last decade.

Worst in the last decade? You realize that goes back to 4 win Shula team. Worst since Saban's first year? Maybe. Luckiest....probably. Maybe I'd say that 10 teams losing in two weekends to put Bama back in the BCS a few years ago might be the luckiest. But It would be an argument I wouldn't engage in.

The number of years in a decade depends on the point I'm trying to make. Most flawed (and vulnerable) Alabama team since Saban got there for sure.
In terms of backing into the playoffs, yeah, that team was lucky. But lucky to win games? This one took the cake, ate it, shit it out, and ate it again.
Truth be told, Alabama and Florida State both could/should have lost four or five games each. Didn't, though.
Obvious weaknesses all over the field. Sims is terrible. He had one play all season long and rode it like a broke down mule. I absolutely cannot understand why teams ever gave Cooper a cushion. He doesn't like to be touched and vanishes any time he's challenged. Henry and Yeldon really aren't that good either.

Oregon = Sammich State
FSU = bag of tater chips (greasy)
OSU = Dr. Pepper University
uat = Banana Tech (overrated)

OSU fans chanting "We want Oregon!" during the post-game show. They must not know the score of the Rose Bowl or something.
They were also chanting "SEC, SEC..."
The SEC West finished 2-5 in bowl games but really all I care about is how ill-prepared, undiciplined and badly my team played in the second half of the season. It became Chiziklike with more offensive weapons and little more.

Watching other games, when one of the players would go out of bounds, I'd say to myself a couple seconds later "...and this is when a Auburn player would fly in, with his head down, knocking the player into the bench or water cooler."

Does Ohio State have buckeye trees on campus?

Not for long

Expect a few more isolated incidents in the near future.

I don't give a flying flip about conferences or their records in bowls. Last I checked it's a team sport and I only give a shit about 1 - mine. People make way too much about conferences. It's stupid.

If there are any trees in ohio they are dead.

I, for one, hope Harvey was in New Orleans last night.

This. And they would've beaten most any other team in America. Doesn't matter because they didn't make it and the biggest travesty to me is that their own conference put them in that position AND that there are only 4 teams. Give me 8 or give me death.

When I was in school, I used to see a plethora of SEC conference baseball caps and shirts on campus. I haven't seen one in years. I used to have one.
Pre championship game, when we would split the title 2 or even 3 ways, winning the SEC wasn't an automatic bid to the perceived national championship game. So, I think that the conference pride has been a good thing and helped to get us to the pinnacle.
We used to always hear the SEC chant and still do to some degree.
I am proud of our conference but it's hard for me to want competing teams to win, although that makes not a damn who I want to win as I sit on my couch.
Now, I'm leaning more to your position. I'm still proud of my conference but the fact that I feel that we are overrated and that I'm tired of the blatant cheating in order to succeed, I'm giving less of a shit.
We may be headed for what happened to the old SW conference. A complete implosion.

I think he came out eventually.

The whole "SEC SEC" got popular when Alabama got good again. Then ESPN took that chant and ran with it. They used it to help prop up their little darling team. It is the sole reason Alabama got a rematch in 2011. I hope we could put the whole SEC dominance to rest.
After what happened to Auburn in 2010, I can truly say fuck the rest of the SEC. I hope they lose every game.

I, for one, hope Harvey was in New Orleans last night.
And got teabagged by some drunk buckeye fan while he was passed out lying in a Bourbon Street gutter.
-
While I was delighted to see the cheatingest team in college football history get exposed yesterday it sickened me that it came at the hands if urban Meyer. That fuckhole conspired with Dan Mullen and his whore wife to destroy cam.
He was in the middle of that and I wish nothing for him but pain and misery.
As tired as I am of the Oregon (also cheaters) bullshit I hope they open a 55-gallon drum of whoop ass on OSU.
Fuck Meyer.

It's like I think it and you type it.

I sent that picture to Updyke on Twitter, just in case he didn't see it (@updykerolltide).

No matter what, there is always going to be outrage that some team was left out. Whether you expand it to 8, 12 or 24. It wouldn't hurt my feelings or anything to see it expanded to 8 but there needs to be a legit reason for doing so. This was the first year, and things went remarkably well IMO. The committee shouldn't change the system just because the Big 12 decided to pull some bullshit.

Nobody would have room to complain if they told the committee to take a flying fuck at a thornbush and set it up so that the winner of the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, PAC-10, Big East, Mountain West and either CUSA or sunbelt played in the finals.
The only fair way to do it. A "committee"'will never be fair. If they were picking 64 like basketball sure. The mistakes would be inconsequential. But four? When the line of thinking is "we can't leave FSU out because, uhh, defending champs and we have to make bama #1 because uhhhh, saban and we can't have TCU in there because uhhhhh, horny frogs". Then it's bullshit. Bias can not be avoided and when picking just four the margin for fucking people over is too great.

The problem is you're talking about the two teams in the final having a 16 game schedule, depending on which conferences those teams are from. The playoff games would have a relatively short turnaround. The logistics would be insane. I mean, I'm not necessarily opposed to expanding it to 8 teams, but that would be pretty difficult in the college world.
As far as TCU goes, I think that they would have been in if not for the Big 12's bullshit. I don't think that excluding them was necessarily a show of bias; rather making a point that in the future there better not be another conference that tries to pull the shit that the Big 12 did.
