BEER BASH: More than 10,000 cases scattered on Highway 280 after trucks collide

Beer, lots and lots of beer – more than 10,000 cases of Miller Lite – were dumped onto Highway 280 just in front of Walmart in Alexander City Monday night, as two tractor trailers collided.

Police officials say that the crash occurred at about 7 p.m. as two trucks approached the traffic light near the store. Officials declined to comment on the cause of the crash as the investigation was ongoing.

Neither driver was seriously injured in the crash. All that beer did draw plenty of attention as spectators gathered quickly to see how they would deal with the mountain of beer that created a mountain of foamy debris.

“Now that I know no one was hurt, that’s what I would call real alcohol abuse,” Alexander City’s Kristy Coley said after seeing the mess.

Other bystanders were quick to volunteer to help with cleanup. Instead a front-end loader, dump truck, sand, along with two commercial truck wreckers were used to get the roadway clear.

“I will haul as much of that off as they want,” Mark Winters of Sylacauga said as he watched police sort out the details.

Traffic was redirected through the Walmart parking lot for more than three hours while officials dealt with the wreckage and cleanup.

Mass brewed beers (which I drink) are all becoming taste one you have tasted the rest. The big guys are gobbling up the micro brews and special brews.

When I am out to eat or feeling like something better, I usually reach across the pond.

That little orange slice that you eat with your beer is cute.

Blue moon is a U.S. mass produced beer, it is made by coors.

The slice of orange originated in Europe to be put in the full wheat beers to absorb some of the bitterness of the beer. People here do it cause they think it looks good. Blue moon no more needs a orange than I need hair care products.

Although some nice gel or mousse could help make your dome shine brightly.

you realize traditional wheat beers are made with little to no hops...bitterness is void.

and I am not positive but I highly doubt the "Orange" slice first made an appearance in Europe beers...perhaps you are confusing the brewing process or flavors with citrus.

I use lotion, don't want dry scalpe flakes falling in my beer when I look down to see where my orange is.

Its also funny that you say wheat is traditional as it was never included in the Purity Law (until its revision in 1993). I believe the Germans find us hilarious for the most part.

I think Landsharks on Orange Beach are gooder than Miller Light.

I know sitting in german gastehaus's in the 80's they had orange's in the Weizenbier beers. I really can't find anything on the internets about how the orange got started.

I would drink (free) miller lite till I  :puke:. I just made mention that I don't equate Miller lite-coors- bud, to being real beer. :bar:
