Soon to have his family's yard poisoned and Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace calls it like he sees it.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/bo-wallace-says-alabama-media-are--like-fans-of-bama-163042596.html (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/bo-wallace-says-alabama-media-are--like-fans-of-bama-163042596.html)
Before last year's game against Alabama, Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace said his team could put points on Alabama (or anyone for that matter) and the matchup between the Rebels and Crimson Tide would be a close game.
He also said the week before the game that his team had better receivers outside than Texas A&M, a team that had fallen 49-42 to Alabama two weeks before.
Wallace's words were not prescient. Alabama shut out Ole Miss 25-0 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on September 28. Wallace finished 17-31 passing for 159 yards.
His comments got a lot of attention, both before and after the game. Wallace remembers the attention.
"I was just showing confidence in our players," Wallace told CBS Sports. "They just turned it around as much as they could. Their media is like fans of Bama."
It's not just an Alabama phenomenon; local media across the country can have a tendency to lean to the team it primarily covers. But you can bet that it'll be chuckled at heartily in newsrooms across the state even if there may be a semblance of truth for some.

Everyone knows this wasn't a vintage LSU team but it doesn't diminish the victory given the tests ahead.
The ranked teams Auburn needs to defeat along the way now seem to be staggered in a more palpable way than what we thought or who we thought were going to be the most challenging.
And if the shoe were on the other foot and we had failed at the Grove, today's headlines would be how Alabama thoroughly dominated (national powerhouse) LSU as if no other team in college football would stand a chance against their beloved Tahd on its path to claim the giant pen holder.

If Alabama beat LSU 41-7 this weekend and Auburn lost to Ole Miss, they would jump FSU to #1, and we would have dropped out of the Top 10, at least.

I'm seeing too many Auburn fans say "Just win all your games and polls don't matter".
We should care. Bama dropping only a couple spots after losing to Ole Miss and not really having beaten anyone of any significance this year is why we should care.
We should be the #1 team in the country right now. If we're not after beating the #3 team this weekend, MOTHER FUCK that shit. Burn Bristol to the ground.
I don't want to hear any more of that "Auburn plays better when we're the underdog" shit. That's a relic of the past. We're past that now, Auburn fans. I want to be the team that other teams shit their pants in fear of when they see us on the schedule. I want them to resort to onside kicks on their first 3 & out, two point conversions after their first TD, trick plays, etc. thinking that kind of desperation is their only shot against a titan like Auburn. Getting up in their own heads about it, and tripping over their own dicks as a result. Like teams have been doing against Alabama for the last five years or so.
Thanks to Gus, it's our turn. Embrace it.
As kind of a side note, if Bama loses two more games, including us, which at this moment in time looks highly probable, Bama nation will implode and the Saban family will wake up every morning to a pile of bricks and broken window glass in their living room. Gus being 2-0 over Saban will be more than they can handle.

I may only know long snapping, but I'm pretty sure this isn't allowed.

Actually...and I know its ironic, but ESPN does have us #1. Its their FPI.
Danny Kannel and Herbie both say were the #1 too. But I actually would rather stay out of the 1 spot until about Week 11 or 12. No worries, Gus got this shit.

The AP has FSU at 1261 points and Auburn with 1259 along with Auburn barley behind in the 1st place votes. After AU goes into Starkville and whips some arses, I would think those numbers change dramatically.
By time the Playoff committee releases their official polls at the end of the month, Auburn will have #1 locked down.

They probably learned it from that sign stealin', QB payin', high school offense cheatin' Gus.

It still doesn't matter because bama is gonna have more losses and thus drop further.

The other point I meant to make in this rant, but forgot to, was that while I'm not seceding anything, an undefeated season is extremely difficult to pull off. Just because we've done it three times since '93, doesn't mean it's easy. '98 UT and '09 Alabama are the only two SEC schools to win 'em all in that same time period. In a year like this with the kind of parity there appears to be in the West, it's going to be extremely difficult to come out unscathed for anyone in the west. And with Auburn playing the best team in the East, playing the other East team who most thought at the beginning of the season would win their division, and playing the best out of conference opponent of anyone int he SEC West, it's going to be extra difficult for us.
Most likely, everyone in the SEC will end up with at least one loss. With every other conference shitting the bed, it's highly likely that the runner-up for the West gets in the game. IF they spend a good portion of the season highly ranked. IF they're a darling enough to bounce back enough. Bama can conceivably only spend this one week outside of the top 4. Either us or Mississppi State will lose. I could very easily see TCU beating Baylor. I could very easily see A&M not losing to both Mississippi schools in back-to-back weekends. If those two things happen, or even one of those and a Notre Dame loss, Bama's back in the playoffs right away.
Would Auburn be granted that same benefit of the doubt if we keep floating around not at #1? We could drop one and never make up enough ground because we're not a "darling" enough. It takes staying in that top spot for several years running to earn that kind of benefit of the doubt.
It's our turn.

Hey I agree's with ya, we should be #1. Most of the talking heads had us at #1 even --> :holtz:
As far as that other school, like I said they won't even be in the top ten when we play them.

TL;DR but then, I don't read your short ones. But, how in the hell did the side judge miss the facemask that helped cause the fumble and scoop and score for Bama? And how in the hell did the back judge jump first to the conclusion that the ole piss db was out of bounds on the game ending interception? Check these two out on replay. They were both looking right at the play. I mean on the money. These are rhetorical questions, btw. I know the answers to both.

The facemask I don't know how he missed, the foot down I can kind of understand, he may have been blocked by the turd player.

Alabama gets the gravitas and the SEC West will come down to us and them at their place.
State is the best team on our schedule outside of Alabama and to your point why we must get by them for fear of falling farther than we should. The other teams in my mind don't have the same mettle (we shoved Ole Miss all over the field) and we can get by some of them even when we don't have our A game now that our defense is contributing much more.
I would like to agree with GF but I just cannot see Alabama failing again in the regular season knowing how they escape defeat. And they are like fucking Jason-never out of it...even with two loses which would sink any other team's chances. That is the cat's ass of the rivalry in a nutshell and what very few comprehend.
