Bruce Pearl's show-cause penalty ended at midnight Saturday -- and Horace Spencer was in his office shortly after.

About 12 hours later, that late-night meeting paid off.

Spencer has committed to Auburn, sources told CBSSports.com.

Ranked No. 57 in the 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot-8 Spencer is a terrific athlete up front and has a very good motor. He does most of his damage on the glass and in transition, so there's plenty of room for improvement on the offensive end.

Spencer is at Findlay Prep (Nev.) now, but Auburn made inroads with the Philadelphia native because of former La Salle assistant Harris Adler, who is now on the Tigers' staff.

Spencer is Auburn's second commitment of the weekend, joining four-star forward Danjel Purifoy, who pledged to the Tigers on Friday night.

Another ESPN Top 100 Player. They have him at #75.

Auburn coach Bruce Pearl has landed another Top 100 player in the Class of 2015.

Just days after securing a verbal commitment from wing Danjel Purifoy (ESPN, No. 50), Philadelphia power forward Horace Spencer committed to the Tigers.

Pearl met with the 6-foot-8.5, 210-pound Spencer at 12:01 am on Sunday -- as soon as the coach was allowed to finally talk to recruits.

"It was the perfect situation for me," Spencer said. "They offered me the opportunity to start at the four-spot."

Spencer is ranked 75th in the country in the senior class by ESPN.

Supposedly this bumps us up to the #9 2015 Recruiting class rankings IN BASKETBALL. #2 in the SEC behind Florida.

oh...shit.

One thing Bruce Pearl brings to wherever he coaches....bravado. He has shown it time and time again. And is doing it at Auburn.
