Now he has a weapon.
The 6-foot-1, 256-pound rookie lead-blocking fullback from Auburn was back on the practice field for the first time in a while on Tuesday. And he was wearing a giant cast – club – on his left hand.
“Very important,†the rookie said about being back at practice. “Obviously, I still have a lot to prove. Missing part of camp isn’t really what I want so I’m glad to be out here.â€
Prosch, 21, wouldn’t disclose the injury but said he’s dealt with something like it before. Head coach Bill O’Brien wouldn’t detail the injury either but was happy to have the fullback back on the field.
Prosch was involved in team portions of practice and even caught a few passes during individual work.
“He’s been a guy that since he’s been here, he’s worked very hard and he’s one of those guys that hates to miss anything,†O’Brien said. “And it’s great to have him back out there today with a taped up cast on and things like that. He’s just trying to do as much as he could.â€
Prosch said he would be able to play in a game with the cast on his hand but said his availability for Saturday’s game against the Falcons would be up to his head coach.
“It’s just a change and an adjustment you have to make and that’s just a part of football,†Prosch said. “It’s difficult but it’s a part of the game.â€
